kiddy
I believe that is what we refer to as a minter.Considering Roglic came from 4th down, but chose the RHS; the move that saw JA relegated to 5th, took out Hirschi & Pogacar, who'd gone left. Otherwise it would have been a blanket finish, with no opportunity to sit up.Wonder if he'll learn the lesson from it?
kiddy
Thamas Giro looks to be over. Crashed in the neutral zone before the race began, & rumoured to have come off a second time, He was dropped just before the start of the Etna climb & now over 1 minute back.

It was only going to go one way & the Vuelta could have been instantly identified as the new target.

One thing's for sure, Nibali won't get a better opportunity to add another GT to his palmares. Yates 25th at 3.46. Going by his pre-race form, can only think illness being a factor in his showing today. Edited October 5, 2020 by kiddy
jaggyness
Thomas crash. Certainly looked fairly serious, would explain why he dropped away so badly

Very unlucky for G. With Yates losing time the race has been blown completely open.

jaggyness
It's still possible that Thomas will abandon tomorrow and, provided there are no fractures, join Froome at the Vuelta. How weird would it be, after all the hoo ha made about them all going to the tour if, as rumoured, Froome, Thomas and Bernal all end up riding the vuelta? Looks like Roglic is going to the vuelta as well with dumoulin. Throw in pinot, aru and valverde and there's a lot of grand tour victories on the start line potentially!
jacobsladder
G has no motivation to continue so yes let him recover and him Froome and Bernal just battle it out

kiddy
Latest news - Geraint has abandoned the Giro due to fractured hip - according to Eurosport Just said pelvis! Can't see him making the Vuelta, it starts in a fortnight. Season over methinks.
kiddy
Peter Weening should have been stopped from getting back on his bike. Whilst picking up bidon's from the roadside, hit one (like Thomas did yesterday) & came off, taking out a Movistar rider in the process. Cracked his head on the ground & was staggering around trying to lift the wrong leg over his bike. As with Bardet in the tour, he should have been pulled instantly. #concussion Edited October 6, 2020 by kiddy

Can't see Thomas, barring a miracle being fit for the Vuelta.
kiddy
What a ride from Ganna in the Giro. As for JA in Brabantse Pijil, what an idiot. You'd have thought he'd learned his lesson in LBL?. Hands up, celebrating, going over the line & nearly caught out by MVP in the sprint. To say he shat himself, by his face, was an understatement. Lucky laddie.
