Gigs

Eric Clapton at the SSE Hydro. Fucker walked off after 90 minutes of playing after he seemingly fucked up the set order. Band came back on with him played one song then they left. Crowd expected an encore got the lights turned on. First time I've heard booing in a long time.

Clapton's got previous for this sort of thing. You shouldn't fuel his pension plan. Good guitarist 40 years ago.

Gaslight Anthem at the Corn Exchange in November

Quite literally just bought tickets to go and see them in Zurich in November.

They play on the 11th. Going to see Kasabian on the 4th of November.

With Eels in the next week or so and Damien Rice in August I have a few decent gigs coming up, as well as a few festivals I'll be taking in. Decent few months for live music coming up.

Can someone let me know how the warhols do on Thursday please?

I thought they were very good, but the crowd was absolutely awful and one of the worst I've been in. I also need to get high before I go see them again.

thanks mate. I first saw them in the garage. I wanted to close the circle by seeing them but alas. Sounds like I missed nothing. Once unmissable, now I don't really care and judging by your post seems others share the same view

Yeah, their newer material isn't great, and when no-one has bothered to listen to it and know any of the word, it's not going to be a good gig. I think they sort of noticed this though and played more older stuff than anything, but even then the crowd was relatively poor. I normally try and get near the front but didn't bother. The people there were moving the same as the people at the back.

Managed to score a ticket for Jamie T at the end of July. Looking forward to that.

Went to see Extreme on Friday there at the 02 academy. Playing the entire Pornograffitti album top to bottom. Absolutely awesome. Nuno Bettencourt is up there with the best guitarists i've ever seen. And i've seen Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Angus young and Adrian Smith among others.

Flawless performance from Nuno. Gary Cherones voice is a bit fucked on the funky/rocky songs but can still do the slow stuff. More than words an obvious highlight.

Best song though: Flight of the bumblebee/he-man woman hater. Epic guitar

The sound was gubbed at one point and Nuno Bettencourt and Cherone started playing tie your mother down by queen while they fixed the drums. Awesome.
