And they played In the mouth a desert. Saw them last night in Usher hall too and they was excellent. Crack Cloud was a decent too as the support. Twilight sad were the support act, and they were astonishingly pish. Most of their songs were instantly forgettable, apart from one that had a chorus that went something like "fucking someone won't keep you warm at night". I nearly cringed myself inside out when I heard that. It was the most embarrassing lyric that I have ever heard. The Cure were immense though. They must have played for the best part of three hours. They did every tune from Disintegration along with a selection of their various chart hits. Robert Smith must be drawing a pension by now, but he still has it. This made me laugh. Glad The Cure were good too, though. The stuff I've read about this tour has been overwhelmingly positive, and the setlists have all been unreal. Cannot fucking wait for them (and The Twilight Sad) at the Hydro soon-ish.
GrahamJags
Went to Kathryn Joseph at Saint Luke's on Saturday. Gig was completely ruined by the bleed of the music being played in the bar next door. Loud enough for Kathryn herself to comment on it from the stage (in good spirit). Annoying as f**k, since she was brilliant, but the intimacy of her set was completely lost. Next couple are Robbie Williams at the Hydro next week, then Bob Dylan at the Armadillo on Halloween. Don't think I've ever seen him in a venue as small as that before, so it should be great. Edited October 20, 2022 by GrahamJags
Harry Kinnear
Goodbye Mr MacKenzie tomorrow night at The Liquid Rooms. Last time I saw them was just before lockdown and they were immense so should be good. Edited October 20, 2022 by Harry Kinnear

pozbaird
Nerina Pallot was fantastic (as always) at St Luke’s in Glasgow on Wednesday. First time I’ve been to a gig there, brilliant venue. I was down near the front, but moved before the encores to get a photo from the back of the ex-church. You can only glimpse the top of her napper as she’s sat at the piano singing ‘Sophia’, always closes her gigs with that. Hopefully someone else I like plays there soon. Really atmospheric place with great acoustics.

Wouldn't have the biggest Venn diagram of mutual interest (although I guess they were both relevant at the same time).

Craig fae the Vale
Bit different tonight as I went to see the Royal Consevatoire of Scotland Symphony Orchestra. A wonderful performance from a group of very talented young musicians. I would never usually sit and listen to classical music, bit it's excellent live.

I’m looking forward to The Cure, I didn’t really like the last gig at Bellahouston Park but we were miles from the stage and the weather was honking. Been looking at some of the footage on YouTube from recent gigs in Europe and they look immense, set lists of 20 odd songs so should be a cracking gig.

I'm same, seen the three times, the last being at Bellahouston Park. The weather was fuckin' dreadful and I myself was honkin' drunk way more than I should have been or intended to be, for that gig. Inside at the Hydro will be special. Saw them at Wembley Arena in December 2016, which was quite honestly one of the best gigs I've ever been to.

My first two were early 80’s at The Playhouse in Edinburgh, one was the Pornography tour and can’t remember the other. We were minging at Bellahouston too , we booked a Hotel in the city centre and me and the Mrs got lost walking back and had to get an Uber that cost me £33. Turned out we were walking in totally the wrong direction
KirkySuperSub
We left about half an hour from the end last time. First time I saw them was in the Royal Albert Hall in 2006 for the Teenage Cancer Trust, played like 37 songs, on stage from 8pm to nearly 11.30pm, unbelievable stuff!
