For a few years in the Nineties, I got dragged along to that big armed forces contest at Earl's Court. The Spanish lads were the only entertaining thing about it.

I noticed Gary Lineker still has a blue tick.  I mentioned the other week that he'd lost his as his account was 'under review' (probably from being mass-reported by trolls and alt-righters).  The blue tick came back not long after and it seems like he must've bought it instead of it getting re-assigned.  Poor show.

He claims he bought Twitter blue for the Edit tweets function. Baloney imo.

Now, I''m not saying that Elon is randomly putting blue check marks against people who used to have one to make it look like paying for Twitter is popular....but it does appear that blue ticks are randomly appearing on accounts which used to have one for no reason, and a simple name change can remove them again

Looks like Musk's removed the search function for anyone who doesn't have an account. No reason for me to use the site anymore.

I can still search Twitter, I mean it's usually crap but it does still work.

Musk is absolutely desperate for all the "main players" to have a blue tick so the plebs keep chucking him cash

Would never have happened with a "D-Stanchion" or Sunday League-style saggy net goal. Of course no other bugger would have come out ten minutes early to help put them up.......

[EDIT: Okay. Will leave this up as a reminder to everyone not to ignore the letters from the opticians. But my goalnets sentiments still stand].

I've watched that a few times now and feel like a bit of an idiot. I saw a ball hit the post, or the keeper, and then come out. It must have gone in though, but from the angle I'm looking at it doesn't appear that way.

I still can't see anything untoward.

There a clip from another angle further down the feed showing that the ball hits the post
