Why do we have this absolute loser mentality within our support to not expect to perform in both the league and the cup?

Don’t think that’s the case tbh but the league is vastly more important this season.

Cup run last year arguably was the only way to deliver this year's squad.

It's vital financially.  This is a fucking disaster

It is but ffs we wouldn't have had a budget to sign half our squad this year if it wasn't for the cup last year. It should have equal importance.

Huge difference in bringing on subs to starting 6 players in a completely different formation.  Not sure what mcglynn is playing at. Does nothing then brings on 4 subs in the 92nd minute.  Absolute nonsense. Playing a part time team on a heavy park we should be using our squad as an advantage. They made 4 subs before we'd even made one.

Yep, was taking a gamble trying to make it to extra time but you could see we were vulnerable to losing a goal.

Very worrying.

From last Saturday morning, McGlynn has lost the plot.
Last season’s play-off debacle comes back into the mind all too quickly.

His pre match interview this week stated that to cope with Bonnyrigg he would see how Dumbarton did it last week……
I mean, really?????
That from a side shouting “Premier League here we come” is totally unacceptable.

With that type of motivation coming from the management, this result was all too predictable.

Difficult conditions but should have had more than enough quality in the starting 11 to beat Bonnyrigg. Subs should’ve been on long before the 92nd minute.

Long is simply nowhere near good enough in my view. Ideally we need an experienced head there but Hogarth has got to start in the interim.

All very well saying the league is the priority but that could now well be a number of contract extensions/signings that cannot be afforded.

Got to hope this loss of form doesn’t continue in the league. For me, there is only one man to blame if it does as it was started by the ludicrous messing about last week.

Also the pitch was a disgrace but Bonnyrigg were getting on top for the last 15 mins and for our manager to make the subs at 90+1 when we go 2-1 down is criminal.

The way the last two weeks have gone, next week is absolutely critical. Win and it’s just a blip. Lose and the bubble is burst.

I've never bought into pitch related excuses. Both sides play on it, and we have enough physical players now that we shouldn't get bullied by anyone. We're not a bunch of sand dancers.

The pitch was THE major difference today. It completely stopped us from playing a fluent passing game and Bonnyrigg deservedly capitalised.

All this stuff about today being an embarrassment is frankly the most embarrassing thing and makes us look a little arrogant. We are still in the third tier of Scottish football ffs……

I'm not disagreeing with what you are saying simply pointing out that mcglynn watched his reshuffled team lose 2-0 last week (as half time) against a side bottom of the league, his first string come on and win the second half 2-0. These guys that started have probably been at him asking for a start and he's given them it.

Today he's saying the starting 11 are whom I trust. Normally he reaches for his bench at sixty minutes today he's sending a message to those players.

It hasn't worked again today, it will be interesting to see what team starts next week at alloa. If it were me I'd go with the same 11 , bar long for Hogarth. That 11 got us that unbeaten run, we are still unbeaten in the league. The pitch won't be as much of a leveller next week.

We'll really miss that Scottish cup money though

Och come to F&£ - these results happen!

That’s a freak result… we’re out the cup, sad, but the bigger picture is the league. NO DOUBT!

Yes, last weeks debacle contributed to this tour of result but let face it our unbeaten run should have ended last week with the “dodgy” penalty decision

Need to get back on the horse next league game. TNS irrelevant.

McGlynn has done so will this season as has the team. One result means F£&@ all in the grand scheme of things.

No excuses the park was the same for both teams… steady the ship and get back on course in a fortnight.

Correct. A shite result but far from sort sort of humiliation.

Not having that.

If we don’t get promoted this year with our strengthened squad we are in serious, serious trouble.

Cannot rely on income from a cup run to fund the club even if we had won today we could well have gone out in the next round after a less than lucrative tie away to the likes of Ayr or ICT.

You never want to get knocked out the cup at any time especially not to a part time side in the league below but league wise it might not be a bad thing. Cup got in the way a bit last season  and it's not easy fighting on 3 fronts.  Money wise it's a blow but if we do go up it's not a disaster.
