South Lanarkshire Jag
Is everybody watching the 10th & 11th episodes online or am I missing something here? The last episode I watched on Sky Atlantic on Saturday there was ep9. A lot of people(myself included) are watching at US pace. Sky Atlantic is 2(TWO) episodes behind. I'd avoid this thread as people are on the verge of ruining Episode 11. In fact i'd go far as to say the climax of Ep 11 has been spoiled as there is a video of it. Bert Raccoon
Stephen Graham is awesome isn't he? I don't think I've ever watched him in something and not liked him. I feel he's a very underrated actor. His performance so far in Boardwalk Empire has been excellent and his work in the This Is England series is outstanding. I'm not one for getting emotional at TV or Films but this really got to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83_ptL_xTCI

Bert Raccoon
Just finished watching the last episode. Absolutely amazing. I won't say anything else as I don't want to ruin it but I will say it was action packed from start to finish. Gutted that it's over, I think this series has been simply stunning.
Quentin Taranbino
Yip great season finale and yet another superb season I think last weeks episode is hard to beat, but this came close. How fcuking tremendous was it when: Richard went on a one man killing spree and wasted about 20 guys "Tommy, close your eyes"

coldojag
Lets be honest, you never want it to end once you start an episode, even if it is one without much action. I've been counting down the days after each episode has finished - I just fucking love this show. The really depressing thing is that we have to wait 9 months for season 4.

the jambo-rocker
Not gonna lie. I stayed up until 2AM this morning watching this all in one go today It really has kicked on a gear this year to very impressive levels. There was one thing that bothered me a little bit however. Rothstein bit to Nucky's apple a little bit too easily for my liking. I regard him as one of the smartest men in the plot, yet when an opportunity that is too good to be true comes along, he jumps on it without a moment's hesitiation, rather than considering the fact that he left Nucky out to dry and too good to be true offers tend to be taken with a pinch of salt for guys as smart as him. I found it a little bit disappointing there, because someone who fucked over his own men over the heroin deal that easily can then go to that just left me a little bit reluctant to buy into it. I could see that they have to move the plot on a little bit on as a lot was going on but as fan of the character I was hoping for a little bit more substance. EDIT: Also the this didn't strike me as Nucky being a full on gangster this year. Just because he has no qualms with killing somebody now doesn't, for me make an immediate shift to full on gangster. Most of the time, he actually wanted to be away from it with Billie (wid) and passing on the responsibility to Rothstein for the alcohol. Doesn't sound very gangster-ish to me. The thing is Rothstein knows that Nucky's desperate as his back's to the wall and it looks like he has no way out. He thinks that Nucky will do anything to get out alive even if it means taking a huge hit in cashflow. Rothstein is smart but it just happens that Nucky is that bit smarter.
Co.Down Hibee
last nights season finale was fantastic, this show has gone from strength to strength ,would have been nice to have seen Van alden in it but hopefully he'll feature more in season 4. After last night there is no doubt how important to this show both Richard and Gillian are, 2 characters that just keep shocking you. brilliant show, if the top 50 tv shows were to be done again this may well be my no.1 over the Sopranos. Richard, just WOW!
Silvio Tattiescone
Apparently Van Alden is a big character in the next series.
mozam76
Not going to lie - I was actually a wee bit disappointed with the last episode (apart from Richard Harrow... ). Didn't come close to the previous 4. Still quality stuff though.
Bert Raccoon
Apparently Van Alden is a big character in the next series. You can tell they're building his character in this series. I'm glad because he is excellent so I'll be glad to see more of him and hopefully more of Richard Harrow as well.
T_S_A_R
the st valentine's day massacre made national headlines and heralded a crackdown on gangster violence in the usa. 7 people died. by my estimate there were 40+ murders in the season finale, the realism of season 1 has been heartily abandoned. in the first season you see the political system of atlantic city working with nucky having to walk a tightrope to keep everyone happy, the different racial groups, the media, business, gangsters and other politicians. in season 3 gyp walks into the hotel and casino and somehow assumes ownership of it . this is is the usa in the 1920s not westeros.
DomDom
Realism in US TV shows. Seriously TSAR. Give it up you complete moron.
T_S_A_R
Realism in US TV shows. Seriously TSAR. Give it up you complete moron. i'm not demanding realism but a consistent level of realism. gyp rosseti taking over the hotel and casino due to having 30 armed men is only a little less absurd than jimmy coming back as a vampire. boardwalk empire is now a completely different type of show to the one it was in season 1. in season one they showed how nucky runs the town. we saw him at meetings with christian women's groups, meetings with the negro community, keeping his political machine well oiled and generally running the city. it was a show that was clearly trying mix drama and period history. season 3 ended up as a gangster action fantasy, the richard harrow shoot out was ridiculous and demeaned one of the few interesting characters by turning him into a video game character. you've called me a moron before when i've criticised a show's lapse towards action and i'll point out again that you are the one who watches wrestling. grown men who watch wrestling obviously enjoy stupid and simplistic narratives and ridiculous and unrealistic action and plotting. i'm not suprised that a wrestling fan likes magnets, train robberies and crazy amounts of murder but i'm not as easily pleased.
