Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Recommended Posts

Talking to a very good (tax) insider, Rangers WILL lose the big tax case, but the verdict may not be imminent.

Setting that aside (!) they will not get a CVA through, no chance. HMRC and Ticketus will vote against it.

Forget all you're reading, this will happen.

So they will be liquidated and sold off.

That's not all, they will be an embarrassment to the SPL once the big tax verdict reveals what they've been up to, breaking rules and regulations all over the place. All this prevaricating is only delaying the inevitable; think the administrators know that deep down. There is no way out for them, and the SFA/SPL have a lot of big decisions to make.

Seems to me, hiding them away in Div 3 would be the best option.

The newco could of course buy out another club, maybe Cowdenbeath, and get back to the top flight quicker, but that would be an even bigger stain on their 'history'; the newco wouldn't have one of course.

This story is only going to get bigger, and will go down as one of the most significant landmarks in Scottish football history.

And yes, I'm loving it seeing one of the Old Firm cut down to size.

The Old Firm, fuelled by bigotry, have used Scottish football as their plaything for far too long. All that Dambusters stuff and Irish music, give me a break! The rest of us are sick to the back teeth of it all, and forever being told we need them. We don't.

Forget the TV money in the short term, painful though that might be. Rangers going bust will be one of the best things ever to happen to the Scottish game.

oops, meant to press green but pressed red instead. meh

Why Rangers are still fcuked: Reason number 347..

Might be malicious propaganda from the Blue Nights Porno Club, but there is gossip that Bill Miller's bid is doomed, as the transfer ban will prevent players' registrations being transferred to the "incubated newco" while the old club sorts out all the shyte and a CVA...

Herald - Running on empty

I think this is incorrect as the ban states that it is on players not currently registered with the club. In other words all the players currently registered with rangers are exempt from the embargo. If I remember correctly.

from the SFA website:

The Tribunal found Rangers FC guilty in respect of Rule 66 and imposed the maximum fine of £100,000 payable within 12 months. In addition, the Tribunal imposed a prohibition in terms of Article 94.1 and 95 of the Articles of Association, prohibiting Rangers FC for a period of 12 months from the date of determination from seeking registration with the Scottish FA of any player not currently with the club, excluding any player under the age of 18 years.

Anyone know why a jobbing builder from Thornlibank has registered a company on the 7th of March this year as 'Glasgow Rangers Football Club 2012 Limited'.

Is he speculating to accumulate? Or is this a bad omen? I guess he thinks they will have to buy the name from him in in the event of a Newco. If that is the case then he may find they just use a slightly different name.

I would assume to make money, or try to.

Alot of Rangers related names have been bought over they last year or so.

It was like a number of years back when people were buying www. domain names for the olympics and world cups etc.

More from RM

That Shane guy is either a total plank or he has done a great job of infiltration and is winding them up no end.

We're not the worst business proposition, either wink.gif
An outstanding business proposition once you strip out the debt and deal with the historical funding deficit which is why it's so bizarre that there is relatively so little interest in purchasing us.

Tautology. When is an incubator/newco the same as the existing club? One for Sandy Jardine's QC I think.

from the SFA website:

Hampden would have to re-register the players with the new team.

Sorted. Don't mess with the "heavy" mob.

You might be right, and the article in the Herald reeks of TBK spoon feeding the writer, but in a situation where you have old Rangers and Newco Rangers operating at the same time, who knows how the sanctions would be interpreted? If I was a Rangers fan I'd be praying for Bill Miller to win the bid though, TBK seem to be fantasy merchants who are unwilling to commit to stumping up anything like a solid cash offer to the creditors.

Christopher Brookmyre on the radio comparing Rangers to a guy whose been visiting prostitutes for 30 years who thinks he must have caught VD from a toilet seat.. laugh.gif

Surely he or Irvine Welsh or someone of that ilk (a writer who supports a smaller team) should write The P&B official history of this saga when it's over? 8)

A case of.............

"Cross me palm with silver, dearie!"

and then will Rangers meet a tall, dark stranger and travel over water?

Sandy Jardine, Ally McCoist, Walter Smith, Mark Hateley, Andy Goram are all complete arseholes that make Neil Lennon seem a reasonable guy.

Can you imagine Neil Lennon trying to "handle" the situation if the clubs' roles were reversed.

He'd be conducting his press conferences from a secret bunker, via webcam, hammering his fist on his desk roaring about how the SFA shot JFK because of his Irish roots.

What you on about? You really think Rangers have a way out of this? Tell me then, all ears...

No. Just pointing out that Chazza's post predicts the future, that's all. It would be very satisfying if things actually panned out his way but, for the moment, it is speculation and not fact.

Why should any of the bidders pour even pennies into what appears like an enormous black hole? It doesn't take years of studies to realise that RFC is a bottomless pit and unless one has hundreds of millions to throw away for fun then it doomed to failure. Scottish football will never be as attractive as even the Championship in England and throwing good money after bad will do nothing but harm one's bank balance. They may come back to lord it over the diddies but they will never be anything other than diddies in Europe and the world. They can never be more than a rich man's bit on the side just like Ally's affair with Patsy Kensit.

I'm pretty sure TUPE will protect ALL terms & conditions transferring to any "New" owner. ;)
