sergie's no1 fan
Dont get all the gloating over this. New team rangers whatever, spend 3yrs in sfl leagues, get to spl then. With no real debt issues and plenty of fan support. Most rangers fans will support newco in time. Doesnt matter what they are called. All rangers haters will still hate newco anyway. Not much will change! As someone has just pointed out, the voting system can be changed. The rules can be set a bit more fairer and hopefully every other club in Scotland can benefit from them. Its now or never, Rangers or Celtic will never get in this sort of mess again.
Chazza1910
I'd have thought the other way about. Anyway, Celtc, Hibs and United will vote no. Though that of course will shaft the 11-1 vote for ever. But Celtic have to do that, or they'll burn down Parkhead
Wings Over Scotland
Dont get all the gloating over this. New team rangers whatever, spend 3yrs in sfl leagues, get to spl then. With no real debt issues and plenty of fan support. Most rangers fans will support newco in time. That's a lot of assumptions. 1. New Rangers will struggle to be financially sustainable. Rapid promotion would be far from certain with the players they could afford. 2. Rangers fans are notoriously disloyal in times of strife. Crowds dipped regularly below 10,000 in the early 80s, and they were still in the Premier Division and reaching cup finals etc then. Just for the most obvious couple.
Uncle Albert
Rangers   Was asking how all of my Rangers-supporting mates felt, and they were raging It will clear off our debt in one season!!! IF they get punted into the third!! -

If they're gubbing East Stirling / Kirkintilloch Rob Roy or whoever then it'll still be the same sort of thing for them, just more goals to celebrate. Still, meh. Mabawsa_Ritchie
Maybe they could keep the Glasgow part then, but not rankers But there is no "Glasgow" in their Club name - it is only "The Rangers Football Club Ltd" is it not? Nae luck there then!

Not much will change! Agreed but the fun of it for all of us will be seeing the greatest, most successful team (according to Rangers fans) in the world playing East Stirling etc next season. I dont give a feck what happens in 3,5,10 years time. Live for today!!! Edited June 12, 2012 by Sting777

Kyle
Steve Brown has said he would vote no to the newco, unless it's sanctioned heavily. Not sure what powers the SPL would have regarding this, but that's what he said a few weeks ago which lead to us going onto their hate list.
Happy Buddie
Might I suggest future conversations along the lines of "What team do you support?" "Rangers" "Did you support the old Rangers" "Aye!!!!!" "Whit's it like switching your support from one team to another?" (Runs)
xbl
Its been said many times before, but if the SPL vote in Rangers, then sadly, I'm done with Scottish football. This is the one chance for the SPL clubs to do the right thing. How does it effect the SFA decision btw? Do penalties transfer to the new Rangers?
kiddy
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-18409172 Once the voting formalities are over, the tax authority will appoint joint liquidators from BDO to wind up the 140-year-old football club. The liquidator has powers to examine the governance and administration of the club before its insolvency and report on any issues he feels should be raised with creditors. Among these powers, include the right to apply for a court order to examine, under oath, people involved with the company. The liquidator can also sell the assets and the business to pay off the debts and undo any dealings or trading which he deems to be void. The last bit could see Green foiled in his attempt to quickly form a newco.
Gaz
It will clear off our debt in one season!!! IF they get punted into the third!! You're no better than the SPL chairmen who have said that money is more important than integrity.
ebeneezer
I have a question actually, now the CVA was going to be funded with what was effectively a loan, but surely they can't buy £5.5 million pounds worth of stadium and training centre with a loan? Do they not actually have to produce hard cash for this? What if Tesco offer £10 million for the two sites (Ibrox & Murray Park)?

If they get accepted to the SFL that is.
Widge
Steve Brown has said he would vote no to the newco, unless it's sanctioned heavily. Not sure what powers the SPL would have regarding this, but that's what he said a few weeks ago which lead to us going onto their hate list. I thought he'd said something like that. TBH it was the only thing he could say, Brown clearly wants Rangers to stay in for the financial benefits, much like every other chairmen, but he can't be seen to support letting a Newco in. So he's basically reached a compromise, but in terms of punishement, I'm not sure there's anything the SPL can do that is actually worthy of what thye have done. Especially since they don't have the power to place a transfer embargo on them.
mgm
They must go to division three. Just wondering what spl chairmen will save them.
