Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Why isn't it the case? The football club formed in 1872 no longer exists. The business is owned by CG and he now has to form a new team. Remember the players' registrations died with the old team's demise.

This isn't the situation... the company formed in 1899 (by the club formed in 1872) still exists. Most of its assets have been transferred to another company but the SPL share asset is still with the original one.

Well now i am well and truly totally feckin' confused - everything i have heard or read says Rangers have been liquidated.

i'm going for a long lie-doon

The Rangers FC plc is going to be liquidated. It hasn't been liquidated yet and infact D&P are saying they're still be there for 8-10 weeks minimum. During which time The Rangers FC Ltd (now own Ibrox etc.) will apply to SPL for permission to transfer the SPL share over.

Anyone looking to organise a protest should look at the 30th of June. It's a Saturday, and there are no Euro Championships games on to distract anyone.

Did the campaign type group on here ever get going?

In terms of PR opportunities I had the idea of a fan from every other SPL & SFL club in their club strip outside Hampden spelling out No to Newco or jst say no or something like that. Fairly straightforward to organise as you only need to get 41 bodies together for your photo and sends the message that non-Rangers fan are united in their viewof what should happen.

probably a shite idea but thought I'd throw it in

Firstly when i mentioned 'a couple of trophyless years' it was long before this whole sorry mess and was meant more as a swipe at the Glory hunters and how fickle their support for the club is.

I obviously don't want to see Rangers/The Rangers expelled or suspended from the league set up...Who would that benefit? Certainly not Scottish football.

Rangers, cough cough... the new co team and the old rangers should be punished and punished hard.

What grasp of this situation do you not understand, rangers have been found guilty of cheating their way to winning in scotland to the extent where they have now gone bust.

Once the EBT and even the rumours of match fixing is enough to make every other supporters minds up. YOU CHEAT to win.

Football has rules, governing bodies have made it absolutely clear that those rules should not be broken and yet you think you should not be punished?

If i was FIFA i would throw you out completely from football and never be allowed to start any new club up. take the 3 years in the SFL and come out of it with integrity.

Good to see my team X shout getting some backing.

Putting Rangers in the hat for Monday is the SPL making a statement of intent for me.

The SPL are trying to cover up the fact this is a shambles and team X would be embarrassing.

I don't agree with HJ and his whole its not a problem swapping Rangers with Dundee at a later date.

As it stands Rangers Celtic and Dundee Utd can't all be at home on the same day and what about New year derbys, Are Rangers gonnae be playing Celtic or Dundee Utd?

Well yes they can be... Dundee Utd + Dundee games have clashed before and 1 has moved to Sunday. One NY derby isn't a maker-n-breaker. (Maybe Rangers-Utd could be an adjacent MD anyway).

I don't think the fixtures should be delayed when 90-odd% of games won't involve Rangers or Dundee: clubs and fans should get to know these.

I also don't think that substituting different teams back in... as happened with Livingston... is too big a problem. (Are you suggesting SFL don't issue too, btw?).

And in practical terms Rangers aren't liquidated yet and haven't applied to transfer their membership yet. And the fixtures are probably already produced - at significant cost no doubt - so they already exist and it will cost money to have Optimal Solutions do them again (double-quick), slightly differently, in X weeks time, if Dundee end-up stepping-up.

That's my position.

Yeah, not difficult to understand. They are about to publish a fixture list containing a club going through the liquidation process and has no stadium or credibility whatsoever.

ok, got it now everyone, thanks

rangers newco v east stirlingshire, opening game of the season at Glasgow Green (no pun intended) !

huv they got goal nets there yet, long time since my saturday morning Boys Brigade days ?

Michael Kelly can f**k off, did he seriously say Rangers shouldn't be demoted as fans wouldn't follow them to Brechin etc? What an utter c**t.

I, unfortunately, have to socialise with Kelly at least 4 times a year.

My considered opinion is that he is a f'in rodent, an utterly horrible rodent!!!

Tbf it's 2 seperate issues too. Issuing v not issuing is one issue, a big one and a material one. Issuing with Rangers, Rangers* or Club X is another issue, a smaller one (IMO) and effectively a superficial one.

I think that is pretty accurate of the majority of Rangers fans.

...in which case, why support Rangers? A clubs fanbase is, surely, a massive reflection on the nature of the club itself. Fans and their football club are linked inexorably in a way like no other business/consumer relationship I can think of. And you've just admitted that pozbaird is completely correct with his excellent assertion on the nature of Rangers itself.

Do a bit of soul searching. Find the light. There's hope for you yet to remove the inner post-19852-0-35461000-1339761337_thumb.g that results in your odd full-retard moment on here (e.g The Celtic View thread) and start afresh.

My mum and dad were token Rangers fans; and the older I've grown, the gladder and gladder I am that I followed in my (sadly now deceased) grandad's footsteps to watch my football at Firhill rather than follow following in my parents and spending my life hating the colour green, Catholics, Celtic Football Club, Ireland and god knows what else for the most arbitrary reasons imaginable.

Wee question.

If RFC 1872 have sold their stadium to RFC 2012, can they be included in the fixture lists for next season?

I assume there will be a clause in the sale that covers this, but if not, would the 1872 variety of Rangers not have made itself inellegible to take part in the SPL?

Except that they didn't - it was circa 3000 and was inflated by the police to 5000 to justify their numbers getting a cushy overtime slot. The orcsand their pals in the press in turn decided to "round it up" to 10 000!

Succulent lamb anyone?

I can promise you not one cop got paid overtime for that. Instead, they were drafted in from all over the city, leaving some parts of Glasgow with the bare minimum of cover while ra peepul had their futile day in the sun.

So, for decades of organised criminal behaviour, involving many representatives and employees of rangers (inseparable from the club, according to the AT and the CoS), your recommended punishment would be.... what?

BTW, if rangers ceased to exist - oh, hang on, they have - Scottish Football would be a more honest operation. Scotland itself would be a better place. And yet, the reaction from the idiots who follow this club is not:

"Christ, look what that bunch of chancers did to our club. We must ensure this never happens again."

But:

"Ya beauty! Wattie's back! Now we can shove it right up they diddie teams and remind them who's boss!"

Sorry if it's nice No.8 today*, but expulsion from the game is not enough for these scum. I don't care what they've done to YOUR club**, but what they've done to MY club and every other club in Scotland (not to mention the taxpayer) is disgraceful. Jail time should be handed out once BDO/HMRC have unravelled the works of fiction that are rangers' accounts.

* Getting harder to tell, the mood swings appear to be accelerating....

**Not true, I DO care and I am happy that they are dead.

This morning's revelation is nothing short of disgraceful. I thought the football club formerly known as Rangers could stoop no lower. However, this deal is disgusting.

If the football club formerly known as Rangers gets away with this scot-free, I worry I will lose all my appetite for football in Scotland. I love Dundee Football Club and love watching them play. Admittedly, I thought I was done when Dundee went into administration for the second time. However, I was won back by the heroic efforts of our support and players.

If the football club formerly known as Rangers get back in the SPL though, I don't know what I will do. I cannot see how things can ever be redeemed in my eyes. Scottish football has one chance to change...blow it and this chance is gone for good. Kick the football club formerly known as Rangers out and re-work the OF weighted voting provisions. A lot is talked about finance. Surely 11 clubs in a non-Rangers SPL could vote to adjust the share of the money so as to compensate.

The SPL chairman have one opportunity. Otherwise we will have the status-quo for good.
