AberdeenBud
The problem with the sale-and-leaseback idea is that no potential buyer will pay more than the market value. As has been pointed out many times on this thread, Ibrox is worth very little except as a football stadium. It changed hands in 2012 for a mere £5.5 million as part of a rag-bag of other assets. Any buyer would need to be confident that - in the event of Sevco going bust - he could either sell it and get his money back, or find an alternative tenant. So what's the most Sevco could get on sale-and-leaseback? £4 million on a good day? I suppose that would keep them going to the end of the season. What if the company leases it to the club at an over inflated value?
dave.j
Is there a way around it all and King buys the stadium for leaseback and the PR men sell it to the fans that its being owned by a "good rangers man" ... 20 million he could buy it for at a penny a month rent?
cyderspaceman
Don't know if it's been mentioned but the Ibrox AGM is lined up for 3rd week in December. Anticipating lots of seasonal jokes. ETA I sometimes see a member 'reading this topic' called Bing (1). However I can't find him in the members list. How does that work? Are there any others that don't show up? (Nothing against Bing (1) btw, just curious.) Edited October 24, 2013 by cyderspaceman

cyderspaceman
Whurs ra fuds? I suspect there may be a 'pact'. They are waiting until the Messiah arrives, then they will fall upon us like a pack of ravening wolves. Good luck with that.

That would make sense, but not for Sevco. If a "good Rangers man" buys the stadium, then at least when Sevco next go into administration the stadium will be out of the reach of the creditors. Since there are few other assets, the creditors will then accept any offer for Sevco from the "good Rangers man" which will give them a few pence in the pound. There will be no other potential buyers, since they'd face the prospect of paying the "good Rangers man" an extortionate rent. This will leave the "good Rangers man" as the sole owner of Rangers - company, stadium, team, club (whatever that is), history .... But surely no "good Rangers man" could be that devious.
Double Jack D
Ticketus will get the returns on their investment one way or another .... This. This is exactly what its all about. Quite right too, the orcs are far too stupid to realise that this is the true meaning of back where it belongs. Ticketus and their investors couldn't care less how its achieved but that £26m will be recouped on way or another.
Stag Nation
One problem with that plan is that when it becomes 'obvious' their lines of credit are going to dry up quicker than a flash flood in the Sahara as every creditor seeks to ensure that they have limited liability. That's not a problem - it just means the plan comes to fruition earlier . A "good Rangers man" could be in control long before this season's out.

Bloomogganners
Can anyone quickly some up in simple terms whats been happening recently? 1. Boardroom down to 2 members 2. Big Tax case appeal going ahead looking at things from a different angle. 3. Sally still not signed his new contract 4. NOMAD trying to get a board together, been over a week and investor centre still down on Rangers website( that's against AIM rule 26). 5. Waggons still circled, cavalry awaiting fresh mounts from Normandy (still to be concieved). 6. Charlotte fakes is back for now 7. AGM delayed 8. Death's hour glass timer pishing out sand at an increasing rate.
