The only money that oldco brought into the game was for the benefit of RFC, not the game as a whole. The only fans that will be lost are oldco fans. More clubs will go under if the leagues are reorganised for Club Zombie, because their fans will not be party to this. It makes sense for them, they can chuck the newco out to appease fans but hope Rangers win the SFL so thing are back to normal after 1 season. You saw Motherwells finances laid bare, we can't afford to run at the levels we are beyond this season and I'm sure the same is true for other clubs. The SPL don't want to reinvent their financial model, this includes Celtic, they want Rangers back, they want a new improved TV deal and if they have to throw some cash and a playoff to do it they will. If this is your attitude why punish them at all? Keep them in the SPL, require every other club to have a whip round to pay their debts and refinance them and then we can all get back to normal. Motherwell can hand over any Champions League cash to Rangers, since of course it's really theirs. I would hope Celtic and all other SPL clubs would distance themselves from it, otherwise it looks like they're complicit in the blackmail. I have already spoken to Aberdeen Football club today regarding this issue and will if this goes through send back my season ticket on the principle that the Scottish game is FIXED and rigged only for Rangers football club.
