Jacksgranda Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Never said you did. You do realise that this interest in Rangers isn't influenced by rumours and gossip? He would have done his own research, but what is he up to?. There is a game of chess being played with Rangers just now and although he has approached the club, we don't even know if he is really a player or there is other things going on we don't know about yet. Who is connected with Robert Sarver and is he already known to the main players involved with the club past or present?. Have they not a big enough squad already? 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Macshimmy Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 There is a game of chess being played with Rangers just now Nah. This isn't chess. This is Jenga, or possibly Snakes and Ladders. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

scottxs Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Why is the American wanting Rangers for £18 million when he can have 51% of hibs for 2 and a half million 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
HibeeJibee Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 I don't follow the last part: If the club runs out of cash and is forced to enter administration for the second time in three years Rangers will be consigned to a fourth successive season in the lower leagues – a prospect feared by the Scottish football authorities as well as other clubs who would benefit financially from their return to the top tier, as a consequence of better sponsorship and broadcast deals than are currently available. Unless they think Rangers will overhaul Hearts, or definitely win the playoff, surely their return is deeply uncertain regardless of ££? 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'd prefer a derby over any sevco game. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Drew Brees Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 HMRC were told they were getting money from the LM transfer, the SFA stepped in and took 250k of this, so alternative funding had to be sought, its not that complicated m8. did you make this up? do you think HMRC would accept this? A 7 days notice is obviously a critical "red ink bill" and would point to this being ongoing,i would imagine it would be probably 3 months. Maybe earlier, less-pressurised, "black ink" bills have been ignored. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jamamafegan Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Can someone tell me what this latest loan means? Are Rangers saved for this season? Is it looking likely this American chap will step in and save the Rangers? 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~ Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 If the company is in financial trouble, why doesn't someone just make an offer for the club on its own? Surely that would make more sense. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
strichener Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 When is that money due? I suppose this presents an opportunity to grab the money sooner? I assume they already have it, it was stated in the accounts as other operating income. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
AberdeenBud Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Isn't it a bit of a riddy for the new incarnation of a club that went down the shitter due to unpaid tax bills, being threatened with a WUO, for not paying it's tax bill? 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
dave.j Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 That's what I don't get?!? Maybe someone here can explain? Would it not depend on what has more value... the shares or the assets? Could a new company buy the "club" from sevco, but not the players, are the players registered to the club or the company? If you buy the "club" do you get the image rights to use the badge, or does someone wlse own them? 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ken Fitlike Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Hilarious as it is, maybe it would be in the interests of transparency if someone at the SFA / SPFL ruled on whether this is the club or company which thrashing about in fiscal choppy waters and about to go under once again. Will the company be deducted points.....? 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~ Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/30185423 SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: "The tax default and reporting rules are an integral part of maintaining a fair league competition." 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
HibeeJibee Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) It all depends what arrangement they have in place with HMRC, it is normal for companies to have discussions with creditors how they are going to pay things. there is nothing in the BBC article that says 'late' just that payment is due, there is also nothing in that BBC article that suggests that any sort of SPFL penalty is possible, not saying they are not, just pointing out that it is not mentioned. Something must be/have been late, surely...? Firms don't get a letter from HMRC saying "pay at 7 days notice or face winding-up", of sufficient genuineness to require an instant emergency £500k loan, as a matter of routine? Rangers' latest crisis loan was taken to avoid being wound up by HM Revenue and Customs, BBC Scotland has learned. It is understood the Scottish Championship club received a seven-day notice letter at the end of December for the payment of national insurance.
