What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Seen Harry Brown last week and thought it was bollocks.

It was trying to be like Gran Torino, which was excellent, but failed miserably in my opinion. The whole thing seemed unnecessary. Poor acting from the majority of the cast, massively unrealistic rioting and just, generally, rotten.

Best thing about it was the cracking Chase & Status song at the end.

The Matrix ( 1999 )

This has not aged well. Some, if not most, of the dialogue is absolutely ridiculous. Morpheus talks some amount of shite right from the first minutes he's on the screen and he seemingly doesn't stop. Then everyone around him seems to sort of think "oh, right so WE'RE supposed to talk shit too, just not as much shit". We have the hilarious martial arts scene, with the golden moment where you have Neo dramatically backflipping over Morpheus only to get kicked through a pillar. The action and scenery here is amazing and brings it up to a thumbs in the middle.

5/10

American History X ( 1998 )

A worthy addition to my full marks list right here. This movie basically takes it's 2 hours giving you two characters who are absolute c***s, and make you sympathise with them and put your emotions in them, and it works. There is some extraordinary stuff, with the highlights coming from the flashbacks to what Edward Norton did in the past and what happened in jail, but that's not to say that the stuff with his brother isn't good too. Couldn't give full marks if the little brother's plot was poor. This is must-see.

Original or remake?

It was the remake.

Bruno

It was pretty funny/cringeworthy, and the interview with Harrison Ford was comical, still it was pretty much a gay borat,

6.5/10

Ultraviolet

Futuristic nonsense but it was mindless entertainment really plus Milla Jovovich is hot so all in all not great but not especially bad

4/10

The Sting - 10/10

Just a brilliant film. Every character in this is cool as f*ck. The clothes, the talk, the scam itself, everything looks amazing. The scene on the train when Newman produces the four Jacks is brilliantly done, the look on Robert Shaw's cronie's face is priceless.

There isn't one part of this film i don't enjoy.

Thoroughly recommended.

Running Scared - 8/10

Exciting from start to finish. I don't know what kind of critical reception this film got when it came out, but i think it deserves to be seen by many.

The film is brilliantly cast with Paul Walker, Chazz Palminteri, Karel Roden and Vera Farmiga playing their parts superbly. I had heard about the

paedophile

bit from others who had already seen it, but i still don't think i was really expecting how horrific it is. It's a great scene though, particularly with the shadows of the couple when Oleg is in the bathroom.

Was a bit gutted when it turns out

that Paul Walker is a cop

, bit of an easy get-out. But a great film nonetheless.

Also, for some reason Karel Roden reminds me of Salty. :D

RocknRolla - Pretty much as I expected thats why I was in no rush to see it, good enough with the usual Guy Ritchie twists and turns and was worth watching, thats about it. If you haven't seen it then imagine what it'll be like and you've got it!

Paranormal Activity

0/10 Slow boring and pish. The ending nearly made me punch my telly.

I love how divided the opinion is on this, like you I think it was totally shite, but those who haven't said that it was mince have said it was really scary (which I can't see how!) and that it was really good.

Why does no-one say that Spawn was brilliant? That was equally shit!

Law Abiding Citizen - 6/10 The first 2/3's of the film was really good but the final 1/3 was crap. I was sitting wondering why a DA was running around with the cops and helping arrest folk (I know it's just a movie but it bug's me).

Pandorum - 6/10 Ok sci fi film figured some stuff out pretty quickly. Not the worst I have seen.

As for Paranormal Activity, as far as I heard there are 3 endings to the film.

1 - A body goes flying towards the camera and the lassie is not found.

2 - Lassie comes back upstairs and sits rocking till the cops come and shoot her.

3 - She comes back to the room and smiles at the camera.

I don't see how anyone could have found Paranormal Activity scary. The advertisement of it seemed to suggest that it was going to be jumpy as hell, but there was not one moment in the film that I flinched at, never mind jump out my seat.

the version I saw was version 2, the original one I believe.
