JamieStevenson
Quite looking forward to seeing him play. If we get a defender in I'd be very happy and reckon we'll do just fine.
Par-NO1
Still need cover for the defence imo. Martin has impressed in his recent run in the team, so I see no reason to drop him. Morris is a certain starter when fit though.
Stellaboz
Was it Martin starting when Young was dropped for that short spell? I can't remember, surely it must have been as I can't think of anyone else who would play centre half.
Chicken Wing
Luke Johnston was the centre half. Now on loan at Montrose.
DAFC
JJ saying on tv that we fought off competition for shankland from chamionship teams. McCinnes saying good things about him.

DAFC
You will be happy to know that he is a Rangers fan Good player, caused us a few problem last year, scoring in the process, the sort of players we should have been snapping up at the start of last season. No problems with rangers fans, just the idiots and the attitude from your managment and board sometimes.
DAFC
Just the idiots, management and board? Your ok with our refs now? Naw, forgot about those guys. Hate em.

Poet of the Macabre
I don't think four keepers is excessive when two aren't even 17 yet! I'd imagine the four of them put together wouldn't make up half of Gallacher's weekly wages. Excited by the Shankland signing; heard some very positive things about him and says a lot that he chose the Pars ahead of a team in a higher division. Still big time clearly!
Gall09
Had a wee look on the Dunfermline forum and quite a few fans saying that Shankland's "really fast" and "rapid" etc. The one thing Shankland doesn't have is pace. He's a terrific finisher though and can hold the ball up brilliantly.
We Are Pars Fans!
Never heard of Shankland before we signed him but he's sounds like having the attributes of the type of player we have really needed. Just a centre half and reckon we are sorted.
dafcburty
According to the Dunfermlone Press we have Ross Smith training with us. He's a young CB who is currently with Dundee United and was on loan to Stenny at beginning of this season. As far as I'm aware, we've used up our quota of loan signings so he can't be brought in through that route so maybe DU are willing to release him for nothing if we want him...? Also, we apparently have a few other trialists with us and they, plus Smith, will be assessed in a closed doors friendly next week.
HoBNob
Isn't Ross Smith the ones that stenny fans said was horrendously brutal? Stear well clear.
parsforlife
Isn't Ross Smith the ones that stenny fans said was horrendously brutal? Stear well clear. Think so, sometimes players just don't fit at some clubs but the reports from stenny fans suggest he was too shit for that to be the case. Rather we left him alone.
GordieBoy80
Garry Kenneth is another name I've heard being bandied about. Would rather we left him alone as well tbh.
Islay
Jefferies signing policy has been sound so far, I trust him to make the correct judgement call.
We Are Pars Fans!
Kenneth would be an ideal signing but doubt very much it would happen
dafcburty
http://t.co/DHlVc8EHpqIncase you haven't seen it from the @ParsStats Twitter page, this is a link to a goal scored by Lawrence Shankland against Partick Thistle last season in a Cup match for Queens Park. (The PT goalkeeper is Ryan Scully, btw!)What. A. Goal! Enjoy! Edited January 9, 2014 by dafcburty
Poet of the Macabre
Kenneth would be an ideal signing but doubt very much it would happen Really? He's been shite for years. Ross Smith would be even worse in fairness. Have seen some of his efforts at defending in Stenny highlights. Horrid.
