Heard an interesting piece of information that explains a few things. So Pete Carroll was asked about playing in Munich and the Seahawks NOT requesting their bye week after that match last year. Pete’s explanation was Munich is nine hours ahead of Seattle, so with a 1530CET kickoff, it’s only 0630PST. The game ends at 1900CET/1000PST, and then they’ll probably get on the plane within two hours…that’s 2100CET/1200PST. The Munich to Seattle direct flight is about ten and a half hours, so they land about 2230PST…or a few minutes before the NFL Sunday Night game ends. So why waste the bye-week?

@lichtie23

So what do you think the Jints do with DJ now? If they have a top 2-3 pick in the draft will they let Daboll take a QB and look to trade DJ to some team needing a bridge QB?, do they draft a QB and let him sit assuming DJ is healthy by opening day?, or do you think they grit their teeth, take a weapon, and give him another shot at the gig?

Beginning to look a lot like last year was an outlier rather than the start of a career turnaround, but then they gave him that contract, so to move him on they'll probably have to eat a chunk of that salary as well, and will anyone actually want a guy with a questionable CV who is coming off an ACL tear? Shouldn't really be a debilitating issue for a QB, but as a buyer you'd really want to see him back playing before you take the plunge, so perhaps trading him would be more viable after 2024.

I think he’s done mate. I think we take a QB with a top 1-2 pick. DJ might start next season but he’s finished in NY as soon as the rookie is ready. A bit like Kurt Warner was when they got Eli from the Chargers.

I actually feel really sorry for the guy. So many regimes and coaches to start his career has ruined him.

Jumping the gun a wee bit since the Week 10 thread isn't up yet, but holy moly the slate of games is a bit 😐

A few decent matchups in the 6pm slots, but the Primetime stuff is grim reading.

Yeah was looking at the games thinking maybe Seahawks Commanders has a chance of being televised. Unsure if that's a good thing as yet.

You must be forgetting the Clash of the Titans; Bears v Panthers on Thursday night....

The 'Tank Bowl' Classic.

'Clash of the Shite-ens'

Unsure if Fields having a chance of returning after a short week will make any difference to da Bears. Will settle for giving under 50 yards on penalties this week. Baby steps and that.

Shame on the NFL for foisting these shite matchups on London, Germany, Mexico City, Madrid, Rio, erm, the USA.

😀

It's Win-Win really. Either way, we improve our Draft position.

I'll probably watch it because H2H match-ups between total garbage are usually interesting enough in their own way, but this week in particular seems to have an overdose of games where there's likely to be a lop-sided blowout, or where the game might not necessarily be over by the end of the 1st Q but the ultimate outcome isn't really in doubt.

There isn't really a corker of a match-up, because although Cleveland/Baltimore and SF/Jax look like they should be competitive, I can still see Baltimore and SF winning those by 20 points+. Cleveland will struggle if they fall behind early, and Jax are nowhere near as good as 6-2 suggests.

Depending which LAC team shows up then the Detroit game could be fairly entertaining, but it's the sort of match-up where even if they play reasonably well the Chargers usually spend the whole game trading leads only to come up short at the death. I suppose that's entertaining enough for a neutral, but when it's the same story 8-10 times a season it gets a bit boring and predictable.

Appears the Pats have had their own dose of reality with JC Jackson. Being kind to him you'd say the hilariously inept performance is down to injury recovery, but in reality a lot of the talk coming out about attitude and effort sounds a lot like "Got paid, gave up".
