Glen Greenwald (Assangenik) as usual in the Guardian elsewhere deliberately misses the point. Criticism of her, her politics and her premiership = completely legitimate. Talking about holding parties, dancing on her grave and celebrating that "the witch is dead" = gratuitously offensive, every bit as inhumane as they claim her politics was and ultimately completely unnecessary.

I think that having people celebrate your death and dance on your grave is simply a consequence of not giving a f**k about those people lives whilst you were alive.

I'm not personally celebrating her death, in the end she has long since left the political stage and was simply living out her days. She destroyed a lot of people when she was alive, I am more disgusted at her opposition to Gay rights and feminist movements and her support of apartheid, as much as her economic policies for the country.

She cared about few sections of society and didn't care about what happened to the majority of people in Britain, that isn't what I would consider a good Prime Minister.

Just ignoring the economic and social policies for a bit, this is a woman who was friends with Pinochet and Suharto, supported the Khmer Rouge, opposed the ANC and supported the racist Apartheid regime, presided over the introduction of the homophobic Section 28 and hated feminism.

The social and economic policies are just the icing on the cake of reasons to loathe her.

Factually incorrect.

A society which (metaphorically) dances on anyone's grave, glorifying the death of another human being, be it Thatcher, in a street party in George Square, or Bin Laden or anyone else has lost the very human empathy and decency that her detractors accuse her of having lacked in her policies towards the unemployed people you describe.

I re-iterate: the greatest riposte to inhumanity is to display the traits of the temperate and compassionate society. Shouting "ding dong the witch is dead" does the precise opposite.
