Reasons to be Cheerful

Recommended Posts

My Dad died peacefully in his sleep tonight. Unusual place to post this maybe, but 2 weeks ago we were walking down to the local for a half pint of Guinness (him) most afternoons, and he would have been 94 this August. Still charming the nurses till the end. Not a bad way to go.

Sorry for your loss, pal. It's never going to be a happy time, but you seem relatively relaxed about it and not too traumatised. It's a cliché but at least he's at peace now, no more pain anymore. Probably a slight bit of relief for yourself too.

93 though? Hats off to your old man, that's some age to make it to!

Sorry WB.

Good innings, relatively decent way to go, and other stuff that doesn't really help in the short term. Hope yourself and your family are coping.

Sorry for your loss, WB. Condolences

That's how I'd choose to go though. Peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming like his passengers.....

Cheers everyone. Just found out it's being referred to the Procurator Fiscal, looks like they think I did a Slippery. Or maybe it's normal procedure.

If its sudden and unexplained it goes to PF.

And condolences for your loss.

All sorted, I'm in the clear.

P.S. A wee explanation of this. My niece is getting married a week on Saturday in Rutherglen, so we're anxious to do Dad's funeral as soon as possible. We couldn't sort that out without the death certificate, so I got the call at 3.45 that the PF was sorted but the Registry, which we also need shuts at 4.30. A few ignored orange lights to Raigmore and back to Bught Park at slightly over the limit sorted it.

P.P.S. If any mod would like to switch this stuff over to a death topic I'm about to set up on Gn, please do. I'm relieved my Dad had an easy goodbye, but this is probably not the most appropriate thread.
