Reasons to be Cheerful

Recommended Posts

Submitted my PhD thesis today. Absolutely exhausted but feels brilliant to have wrapped it up inside 4 years. Also means I finished just in time ahead of moving down to London to start my new job, which will be my first full-time permanent post. I’ve worked full-time, and I’ve worked permanently but never both...

Going to be working in the civil service on the Fast Stream, firstly as a policy advisor, which should be fun. Looking forward to a break from academia for a few years and from specifically being immersed in law and legal stuff.

Another week free from hospital treatment. Well chuffed.

Due back in work next Monday and if I can make it in and get by then all will be good. Otherwise I'll need to be fed from a drip (possibly for the rest of my life!)

I thought they'd want to get me in today and get that shit started but I've been given a reprieve to see if I can keep weight on myself.

I also found out that when I do start the drip feeding (called tpn) it doesn't necessarily mean being on it every day. Sometimes as little as 3 days a week could be enough to tick me over. That's definitely eased my worrier.

All in all a good day today. f**k you crohn's disease.

Congratulations. Belgian biscuit is, of course, the correct answer.
