It is a myth that chameleons can naturally change colour to adapt to their surroundings. The idea was created during the Second World War when a colony of the lizards were injected with an experimental plutonium compound during military testing intended to give humans invisibility.

The serum was effective but sadly its side effects include severe brain damage, heart defects and constant intense pain. To avoid heavy animal rights charges, the US government released their creation into the wild to breed, and claimed it was a newly-discovered species.

The phrase "May ye gang far and fair waur" is translated from an ancient Forfarshire language and means "do not eat the bridies here".

I thought it meant 'We have the coldest toilet in Scotland'.
