Nearest "big place" is Carnwath, 4 miles away. No shop. Very little public transport, and what there is, takes you to the delights of Lanark. Apart from that, it's fine. I often joke to people im not from there though, fact is im from Fallin, a wee *** infested ex mining village two miles from Stirling, a horrible mutant filled sectarian cesspit, not too dissimilar or any better/worse than Alloa truth be told , growing up a Catholic in that village was certainly 'challenging' to say the least ! Yeah that was in Clackmannan im led to believe, it's a very odd place Alloa, a lot of people of the 'staunch' type as you say, most of them I don't think even go to Ibrox but put their Rangers tracksuit on for the bingo or to go round Lidl or even just their occasional appearances at Alloa sheriff court.
