And this is why

He's really good with kids - Jeff's kids were (I'm pretty sure) 9 and 6 when they got him as a puppy, but he's perfectly fine with my 16 month old - but yeah, he's all go all the time - age 3 so maybe he'll grow out of it. Jeff has the advantage of being out in the sticks with half an acre's worth of back garden, so he can batter around there to his heart's content. Not sure if it'd be a dog I'd want to keep in a flat.

Had to Google that.

If only he was able to move in a straight line - all over the place !

Actually, if he's only 7 mnths, he might be a wee bit young for bikejoring and he'd need to learn a few commands. Plenty of info available on YT if you're interested.

Any advice on introducing a new pup into a house with a cat?

Preferably which results in harmonious living for both of them

Supervise in the first instance but really just leave them to it.

They’ll play or they’ll hate each other but they’re not daft. One swipe from the cat and the pup’ll be giving it a wide berth going forward. Or if the pup catches it a dull one the cat’ll be the one keeping its distance.
