KierenAAFC
I'd be interested to see where you lads rank your managers going all the way back to Hartley.Hmmm. Good question, definitely raise debate. 1. Paul Hartley 2. Jim Goodwin3. Jack Ross4. Barry Smith5. Danny LennonPaul, despite his failures elsewhere, transformed Alloa at the time. Back-to-back promotions and leaving us sitting 4/5th in the Championship. That was some feat. No doubt some of the things he implemented are still very prominent at the club ... a certain wee magician being one.Jack Ross is a better manager that Goodwin, but he wasn’t with us long. However, the majority of Goodwin’s squad was created by JR in his short time but with everything Goody achieved - he wins it!Barry Smith doesn’t go bottom for our greatest ever result against Rangers. Less said about Danny Lennon the better.
weetoonlad
1. Hartley did a good job at lower league football he did assemble a good experience squad in the first 2/3 seasons before going to Dundee 2 Barry Smith strange manager didn't have much success with us apart from the semi final cup victory vs Rangers 3 Danny Lennon very much an old time manager did keep us up in championship that season 4 Jack Ross by a mile the best manager Alloa have had over the past 5 years . total modern manager in all ways moved onto St.mirren were he took them back up into the top div before getting his move to Sunderland 5 Jim Goodwin who Jack Ross brought in to the squad as a player . very much a hands on manager gets the best out of everyone of his players at Alloa yes hard man on the park as a player but off the park very nice guy after all he has worked with some good managers over his playing days . he will do well at St.mirren a club very much he loves
