AlloaAdam
Don’t get where all the sympathy for Rodden comes from, looks totally out of his depth whenever he starts a game. Was very lucky to be given a new deal and should have been purely for 5 minutes off the bench at the end of games, nothing more. Roy doesn’t inspire but Wales certainly sounds highly rated so fingers crossed he bangs them in. Interestingly, Wales is only on a deal until January so could be a heartbreaker if he does well for us.
Kevchenko
Quiet week/day for Alloa but we managed to find an hour of stuff to talk about for the podcast somehow!!! Annan, Rangers B, Ally Roy, Nathan Cannon, Bobby Wales, Edinburgh City...and managerial pressure?! https://waspsnest.buzzsprout.com
Magic Hat
Just for the record I wouldn't have kept Rodden either, but his goals to minutes ratio this season has been decent and he deserves a place on the bench, and to be coming on in front of the likes of Cannon.

I think that we now have a first team squad of 24 or 25 players (depending on how you look at Burt) which seems pretty big for a team at our level. I imagine that it's going to be quite a task for Brian Rice to keep them all happy. Bobby Wales is the most natural finisher we have at Rugby Park. He scores for fun. Look after him as you've got a top prospect there. Best of luck.

Hopefully a real player for us in the next few months and hopefully uses his clinical finishing in an Alloa shirt and get some in the back of the net. He is only 18 and needs to play but he won’t let you down.

Interestingly, Wales is only on a deal until January so could be a heartbreaker if he does well for us. Rodden's work rate and attitude are terrific but agree that in most cases he is really suited to cameo roles late on when games have opened up and there is loads of space and little structure. Or the rare occasions when you play a team and those conditions exist at the start of a game (hi QoS ). As a starter this level is invariably bit of a challenge for him. As printer said, our strikers this season have struggled with holding the ball up and with their movement. Not helped by us never getting the best out of the creative players behind them to be fair and in that respect the issues at the club go way deeper than just being short of good strikers. But the forwards haven't been good enough and another couple of options are very welcome. Hopefully they can give us a wee boost ahead of what is a big game today.
Rory
St Mirren fans said the same things about Offord last season that Killie fans are saying about Wales. Offord showed glimpses of what he could do but he was often only given 10/15 minute cameos so hard to impress. Hopefully we'll use Wales more and he'll be successful for us.

Depends how good Wales plays. As you say, Offord showed glimpses of ability, but overall, especially when he started games, he didn't contribute enough IMO, which is the main reason he didn't get more game time.

Done ok for us considering he hadn't had any training sessions with the other players. Him and Ally Roy looked like they could be a decent partnership up top

Showed a few classy touches, didn't get any chances (was coming deeper at times to link up - which he did quite well). Looked to me to have decent pace and physicality. Early days of course. Bobby is an absolute goal machine for our youths/reserves. The other parts of his game (strength/hold-up play etc) will improve as he gets older. Hope he does well for you. Look after him!

bairn88
Just watched your highlights there and the lack of desire from the players to sprint to get the ball back after levelling up is all the proof needed as to why Rice won’t be long for staying

Quentin Taranbino
Murray Miller any good lads? Just signed for us. What sort of player can we expect? Most of what I have read seems to be positive

He was pretty good for us and scored one of our best goals last season.
