P45
He might have been the difference between 10th and 11th. What would relegation cost? More than Aberdeen's bid I bet.
Dee Man
How are Aberdeen affording Kenny McLean? Well Borg, they have just had their debts wiped clean by a couple of wealthy benefactors, so rather easily I'd imagine.
Virtual Insanity
Any word on a fee? Tremendous bit of business for Saints relegation rivals (I'm including us in that!), very pleased.
gc_smfc
There must be some sort of release clause in his contract. I can't imagine we'll be getting anywhere near as much as we want and his ability dictates.
AberDon
Someone posted on Mad that McInnes had met Mclean in Glasgow a couple of weeks ago, just assumed it was bullshit. Would be very happy, but this just seems too good to be true.

Ludo*1
Div on Twitter seems to be trying to justify the deal, 'St.Mirren would have got £250k compensation in the summer had McLean moved. His release clause is for more than that.' I'd 100% want us to take the £250k in the summer as he's your club' best chance of survival if Dundee were in the same position. Hammer Jag
Quite shocked at this. I really didn't expect St Mirren to sell him this month and certainly not to another Premiership side. Unreal signing for Aberdeen if it goes through.

craigkillie
On a serious note, what's the financial situation at Saints like with regard to this takeover? Are the club still debt free and stable, or have things deteriorated in recent years? Are you likely to be able to use the money to replace McLean, or will it be going straight to the bank? You're still fairly strong in midfield (by bottom three standards), but this could be a big blow in terms of staying up.
Virtual Insanity
Hope we're not getting carried away on this one, McLean hasn't agreed anything yet. He will presumably have more options and the potential to make more money in the summer, not impossible he turns the Dons down.
