d31
Dons away to Ireland for a week from tomorrow afternoon. It'd be nice if we had a new player or two in before they head off
DrewDon
Every time I see new activity in this thread, I'm hoping for signing news. Stop getting my hopes up, lads.
AFCDannyFTH
George Yule leaving the board to spend more time with his family. Wish him all the best. One of the driving forces behind the rejuvenation of the club. I wonder if this means that the stadium is going to be further pushed back? Yule has been one of the most prominent faces of the project!

Yule has been one of the most prominent faces of the project! Oof, big loss! Not just for his drive, but also because he was the the fans, most trusted name on the board. Dave Cormack, to have higher profile? I've met him once and he was very down to earth/brutally honest, but that was nearly 20 years ago. I trust him, but he's been in America in the intervening period, so I'm not sure how much of what his reputation in the NE is like. As for Dod? I wish him all the best. AFCDannyFTH
Jock Gardiner to step up and lead the stadium project apparently.

AFCDannyFTH
Same sort of character/background as Yule. Oil and gas exec, fan of the club. Has proved to do very well in his business career.

betting competition
Sad to see George Yule leave as since he has arrived the club off the field went from strength to strength while on the field after a season the board got the decision spot on with the manager and the last 5 years have been successful. The biggest success though goes with the charity of the Community Trust - what a major success that he has help created. The next person in has a hard act to follow.

I would have half hoped we'd save a 1-11 number for a new signing yet. Obviously not.

Guest Bob Mahelp
Still only got 3 strikers in our first team squad. One of whom has never scored for the club, and the other two managed to grab a massive 14 goals between them last season. I think it was 10 if you take away penalties. Of these 2 strikers, one is nearing the end of his Pittodrie career and the other suffers from chronic injury problems and a 4 year loss of form and confidence. I think I can work out what should be top of Deek's shopping list.

We need to either get in a striker that fits the system that McInnes wants to play or McInnes has to change his system to suit the players we have.
d31
McInnes loves to chase after old flames. Moult or Boyce will be on the shopping list. Still two months yet.
AFCDannyFTH
McInnes needs to actually promote some youth players. How can they ever be good enough (unless exceptionally naturally gifted) if not given decent game time? We really lack behind most other clubs. His signings over the course of his tenure, have on the most part been poor. If he cannot judge a player from outside our club, who’s to say he’s not missing ones on the inside? The **** are dishing out £3m on single players, yet still give kids regular game time. You feel with McInnes, that the only reason we have kids on the bench is to fill the required quotas from the SPFL. The treatment of Scott Wright is something we should be concerned about also. Looked one of our best players when played last season, then frozen out. Edited June 26, 2018 by AFCDannyFTH Typo
