I remember a furore about it being the thin end of the wedge for "franchise football" in a US style. Kingsford Dons has a nice ring to it. Westhill Kingsford Dons WK Dons. That's the way to go.
kingjoey
There is a fantastic one hour interview by Charlie Allan with Joe Harper on Red TV just now. If you’re around my age, it’s unmissable.
G-MAN
After the slagging we got last season. Are the figures quoted about Hibs & Hearts SF ticket sales true ?
Dons_1988
After the slagging we got last season. Are the figures quoted about Hibs & Hearts SF ticket sales true ?I don’t know, what are they? Even if you answer, I still won’t know.
G-MAN
I don’t know, what are they? Even if you answer, I still won’t know. Ha ha. I heard they both returned tickets and were currently sales under 10K. Can’t be true though given the obsession the media and ex Rangers (IL) players has with our sales last year.

Falcor Roar
Throwing McInnes under the bus because you are 2 points off 3rd place after 10 games? What a dour ungrateful b*****d you'd have to be after the success he has built consistently over the last 6 years. Hope you get Levein as your next manager.
Dons_1988
To be fair you could do all the pre match tactics/preparation that you want but if the players go out like they did today it makes not one bit of difference. Not sure it’s even possible to assess mcinnes’ tactics today properly.
big al
If you aren’t willing to press your opponent, tackle your opponent and at the right times foul your opponent to stop dangerous situations arising then you shouldn’t be playing at this level. Based on today that means we need a completely new team. it was alike b(h)oys against girls such was the difference physically and mentally.

What a lazy response I’m just glad you beat us in the cup so you take the pasting off Sevco instead of us

It’s something that’s been discussed and gone over in this thread various times, feel free to look back at the last dozen pages or so Essentially, we’ve been slowly regressing under McInnes the last 12-18 months, the football is negative, poor to watch, recruitment patchy and some smaller teams are catching up with us while we stand still McInnes has had poor spells before but there’s usually been a general belief amongst the fan base we can push the OF and challenge for silverware We are miles away from that mindset at the moment We’ve become a weak, predictable team who get found out in big games far too much, particularly against Celtic who must love playing against us

Don't think he'll be able to empathise with one man being bullet proof in the boards eyes whilst there's been a clear long term regression on the pitch and in the recruitment side of things.

But - Levein had you in a cup final and now a semi final- surely with this level of success you can’t wish him to leave and join another club?

DrewDon
0-0 v Kilmarnock 2-4 v Rangers 2-2 v St Mirren 0-2 v Hamilton 1-1 v Livingston 3-1 v Motherwell 0-3 v Celtic 2-1 v Hearts 3-2 v Hearts 3-0 v Ross County 1-1 v St Johnstone 1-1 v Hibs 0-4 v Celtic Just the four home league wins from thirteen games in 2019 - only a couple of clean sheets amongst them, too. We have mostly carried the belief under McInnes that, even if we get battered by Celtic (and now Rangers), we would easily take care of the dross nine times out of ten. You look at some of the teams that we have failed to beat at Pittodrie on that list, though - St Mirren (needed penalties to avoid relegation), Hamilton, Livingston, this season's St Johnstone, Paul Heckingbottom's Hibs. Some of the draws were fortunate not to be defeats, if we're being brutally honest. It's not quite Hearts at Tynecastle, but it's grim reading. It's not just a case of a few bad weeks, either; it's at risk of becoming fairly commonplace now. If the team is being instructed to play the way they have been at Pittodrie for a while, it obviously isn't working and needs to change. People say the turgid style of play is worth it for good results, but there are just too many times recently where the ends haven't been justifying the means. The vast majority of players looked completely deflated and lacking in any desire or motivation yesterday. Many were clearly confused about what they were supposed to be doing, which unfortunately isn't the first time I've seen that even this season. It was pretty pathetic to watch.
