Why are you so obsessed with Aberdeen? emoji38.png
Didn't see any comments from you on the midweek match thread

Beginning to think Romeo is the online persona of either Davie Provan or Martin Compston as they are the only Celtic men with similar sized chips on their shoulders about The Famous Aberdeen

Nah, Provan & Compston actually go to games

Thought you all would be pleased that Stevie May is now doing so well.

Thanks

As many goals in his last 9 St Johnstone games as he got in his last 61 Aberdeen games.

Must be Pittodrie as he was non existent in the recent game before being subbed.

How many goals does he have out of interest?

Playing him as a lone striker is, and always has been, an utterly pointless exercise.

Play him as your most advanced striker, he guarantees goals.

7 in 24 for him this season, but most of that was as a lone front man with nobody getting near him. 2020, with him and Hendry as a partnership, and he's 5 in 9.

5 in last 9 is a bit of form to be fair. Always happy to see anyone score against the newco.

Wouldnt say Main was an upgrade either .

May has come back to us a better all round player than the one that left us, and he’s finally looking like the player who left us in front of goal too. The Aberdeen-St Johnstone link has been a fruitful one for both clubs this season with Kennedy seemingly doing well the other way as well.

Since it’s our turn next, fancy giving us a wee shot of McLennan?

Today’s Europa results would appear to mean that 3rd place in season 2021/22 gets automatic Europa group stage qualification - assuming uglies are 1st and 2nd, and one of them wins the cup.

Conclusion - sustaining the best of the rest thing (at least) now remains essential.

This is wrong. The 3rd placed team (or cup winners) will get into the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Europa League.

Not sure how good Wilson is as a source on this one?

He's a terrible source on absolutely everything, but in this case it's not only that he's wrong, it's also that you've misinterpreted what he said.

First of all, he is wrong because he has talked about Scotland being able to secure various benefits by finishing 14th, but in fact these are all based on being in the top 15, not the top 14. There doesn't appear to be any difference between 14th and 15th.  Scotland have now all but secured a top 15 place, which means two Champions League places, one Europa League spot (3rd Qualifying Round) and two places in the new UEFA Conference League for the 2021/22 season (ie based on the 2020/21 Premiership season)

His follow-up tweets correspond to the possible benefits to finishing in the top 12, which do indeed include an automatic Europa League group stage place. However, barring an absolute miracle, Scotland will not be in the top 12 at the end of this season. However, next season, the results from 2015/16 will drop off the five-year running tally which is used to calculate the UEFA coefficients. That means that Scotland will start next season in 12th place in the UEFA coefficient table. However, this is merely our starting point, and where we actually finish next season will also depend on our results in European competitions next season.

If, and only if, Scotland hold on to that top 12 place, then we would have two Champions League places, one Europa League spot (Group Stage) and two places in the UEFA Conference League for the 2022/23 season (ie based on the 2021/22 Premiership season).

Anyone know how ticket sales are going today?  I'm on 232 points so need to wait until tomorrow morning.  Think I'll be fine but still can't help be pessimistic at the same time! 😄

Just saw this retweeted.
