renton
Two seasons ago, Currie scored two free kicks in one game against the Rovers. We still beat them 4-3, but he certainly seemed an excellent dead ball taker. I still think McGurn's positioning was suspect, but Currie's technique in getting it up, over and down at that range was terrific - postage stamp stuff.

Johnny Fingers
Last dead ball expert we had was that wee deviant Thomson. He was a Hibs c**t as well.

Lee currie scored the most free kicks in the whole of the British Football leagues last season.

renton
Yeah it was a bit suspect actually. But nevertheless great technique. Not to drag the Jambos thread too much, but McGurn's positioning for those type of free kicks - basically anything not immediately dead centre is always suspect, in fact is worse, the more acute the angle the attacker has. You see more than one goal keeper who stands off centre for free kicks, but his is one of the more extreme. I always put it down to him not thinking he'd get to something going to his exposed corner if he was in the middle, so was sacrificing any ability to get near his near - wall protected - side, relying on the wall and the closer range to goal to protect that side. Basically an open invitation to anyone who could get the ball up and under the wall, and Currie look exceptionally good at that.

Lee currie scored the most free kicks in the whole of the British Football leagues last season. If we're talking about suspect 'keepers, lets discuss why we conceeded 4. Yousef Bejaoui absolutely shitting himself - we conceeded 4 all from corners that day Currie would be an absolutely outrageous steal for Hearts given he'll be joining on a free and if he signs up I hope he gets regular football as he's more than capable. Hamilton signed Paul Currie (no relation) from us a few seasons back and he did OK, while St. Johnstone signed Dylan Easton but Lee is twice the player of both(No offence to either) and will probably go even further with the right guidance. Disappointing to see him leaving but you can't exactly hold a player of that calibre back.
