Will this be the obligatory rolling over by Newcastle or will they actually turn up? They've made a couple of good signings IMO, think they needed someone like Colback in there and Cabella looks to be e good addition.

ETA - just seen Cabella's hairdo and I take it back, terrible signing.

Never saw him when he played in Italy but Jovetic looks very impressive. Basically like a new signing considering his injuries last season.

I keep forgetting that he plays for City due to him not playing last season and he's got rid of his afro.

Jovetic and Dzeko have been very good today.

Referee was the best performer on the pitch, let the game flow and wasn't drawn in by players hitting the deck at the slightest touch. Unsurprisingly by the end of the game players were not bothering to go down because they knew they'd get nothing and the last 10 minutes was non stop end to end as a result. Clowns like Lee Probert should take note.

Interesting that we have seen 18 out of the 20 clubs and from all the 'big' teams, nobody has impressed. Man utd were horrific, Arsenal were brutal, Liverpool struggled and Man City were far from impressive. Chelsea have the chance to put a real marker down on Monday night after watching this weekends efforts unfold

It's very early days. Lots of new players, things still to settle down. The Liverpool team that began last season needed a late penalty save to see off Stoke 1-0 in the first game and looked very different later in the season.
