The Accies 2014/2015 Thread

Recommended Posts

wow the days of us being a club for giving youth a chance have well and truly past.

Agree re this signing. Ive seen Blair Currie playing in a number of the under 20's games last season and was impressed. I wouldn’t have any worries having him as the back up keeper.

McGovern is the first choice and you need 2 others. Currie fits the bill for the development squad and Hill is there for emergencies. Just cos we have signed him does not mean he is the second choice - Currie could still be that depending on performances.

Paying a fee even if nominal for a keeper who struggles to get a game in League 1 ahead of a 42 year old keeper isn't good business.

Don't think Accies will be taking any good business lessons from Dundee anytime soon.

Will be a decent back up keeper to have. He lost his place in the side to Douglas last season because he got injured and then when he was fit again Rab was playing very well so had to bide his time to get another chance.

All the best to him.

What relevance does this have to the point at hand?

This is comedy gold, even better when Forfar have received a fee for him. Any suggestions of him been a player - coach is simply laughable. He won't believe his luck with this move

Haven't Hamilton got a youth keeper in their squad or coming through?

Yeah Blair Currie who went through the rangers youth ranks, had a few first team games and has impressed.

Still can't get my head round this signing :unsure2:

If Mc gloves gets injured Ye we have BC but then we would have a 17 year old on the bench.

Think it is just a cheep experienced GK as back up. not many of them who would be keen not to play much or be in the squad. It said on the Forfar web sit the he is unemployed so he fits the bill well.

Falkirk fans still upset their keeper decided to join a bigger team.

I don't know a Falkirk fan who doesn't think that Micheal deserves a shot at premiership football.

All in shock that Darren Hill has been bought for Premiership level when he is back up to Rab Douglas.

Given we took a cut in the sell on fee to allow the transfer to go through I would be very surprised if we also agreed to instalments.

Except for very modest fees, paying by instalment is the norm. In a fee of this size, payments will almost certainly be by instalment phased over several years.

Meh. Seems a strange choice and the fact we payed a fee, no matter how small, makes it all the stranger. Still, it has annoyed that Falkirk fan immensely so swings and roundabouts.

I can't wait until "best keeper in the country" McGovern struggles and gets dropped for Hill.....

Hi guys. Just wondered if some of you are heading through on Sunday for Whitehill v Accies.

Our social club is in the ground and oor famous, almost award winning, programme editor Rab B Nesbitt (2nd out of 58 last season) has produced another cracker for your visit, still only £1.

Directions to Ferguson Park at http://www.whitehillwelfare.co.uk

Also you might like to have a peek at oor manager's blog. Very strong hints that a certain South African international Champions' League winner will be pulling on a Whitehill shirt tomorrow (no joke - his fiancée is related to one of our players).
