DA Baracus
The pundits not understanding that you can follow protocols to the letter but if someone brings the virus in to a bubble then folk are getting it. It's quite clear that someone has, almost certainly unwittingly, carried the virus in to the Scotland camp and it has spread from there. The players will be sitting close together on the plane and/or bus which is where they've identified who the close contacts are. It's a matter of luck of where folk were sitting as to if they need to isolate or not. None of this is complicated, but they're flailing around insinuating a whole load of bollocks.

Protocols not being followed etc etc".You can have all the protocols in the world but if you don't have full control of the environment it's perfectly possible for the infection to be caught - hotels, transport, the Greek opposition - I doubt very much the SFA had much control over those.

This issue is that many who have since tested negative still need to self isolate as the SFA have admitted they didn't follow protocol in terms of travelling.

How are you expecting them to fly 30+ people to Greece and back without having some degree of mixing amongst the squad?

Their protocols involve the whole 'bubble' procedures, but there is simply no way to keep the entire squad and backroom staff 2 metres away from each on a flight and on a bus, as well as in the changing rooms and accommodation. Looks to me like no protocols have been broken. Edited November 21, 2020 by DA Baracus

ropy
The isolation seems to be 14 days from the test, not from the contact, is that what happens in the real world?

They absolutely can't guarantee no spread of the virus. No one can. Potentially a domestic player can catch it at the supermarket. Unlikely but not impossible. International travel carries a much higher risk since they're travelling through various uncontrolled, at least in terms of what they can control, environments and countries. The airport and the aircraft itself are potential risks for catching the virus. Domestic players in their club 'bubbles' will only be going to training and games, with perhaps the odd trip to the supermarket. That's much easier to control and has far less risk as they are not being exposed to uncontrolled environments for the most part.
