Scott McDonald and Sam Nicholson could be worth a punt having been released by Motherwell and Hearts, imo

You'd need to pay a development fee for Nicholson. I think it was being quoted at £400k for Aberdeen. The dev fee wouldn't apply if he was to move to the MLS club he was talking to.

Motherwell knocked back 2 offers from the same A-League side for McDonald last season and he was very keen on the move. He spoke about it at length on Sportsound the other week. I'd have thought he'd be looking at a similar move (he was on the way to another A-League club when we re-signed him in 2015).

I read somewhere about us being linked with Lennard Sowah from Hearts. I really hope it's not true because although I've never seen the guy kick a ball, I know enough just from reading through the Accies and Hearts threads that the boy is utter donkey balls.

Any rumours I have seen have given me the fear, other than Liam Henderson but we have got more chance of the annual Leigh Griffiths rumour coming true than that happening.

I'm hearing Caballero and Bob Harris are done deals though.

The Sowah stuff is just from a stupid made up account.

Originates from the most ridiculous 'agent' account around. Think it's just been made up.

You say that, but Martin Woods looks like he's joining Dundee.  I'm not sure how many periphery-of-the-action players you want in one team.

He is a dandy (as opposed to a Dandy) though, so you'll all enjoy that.

What about him? There's literally been nothing up this end. He any good?

The DR have something up about McCann in talks.

He's been a divisive player.

I've never taken to him, not because he's complete pish (although his free-kicks are), but because he has had a senior status in the team despite showing very little to justify it.  When he's on his game though he's good.

I've been waiting for him to leave since he re-joined, not because he's complete pish (although his free-kicks are), but because he has had a senior status in the team despite showing very little to justify it.

As long as he brings either:

1. Some hard tackling, ball winning displays.

2. The ability to drive at the opposition defence.

Then I'd be happy.

I am not too keen about us mopping up other clubs' rejects though. I know one or two of these could pay off, but we seem to be getting linked to a squad full.

Is he a big bassa, or a lightweight? Thank you.

Ha I never got my edit done in time  He's not a big bassa, he's tall enough but very lean.

He will work hard and be the tough guy in midfield, when he wants to.  I can count those performances on one, maybe two hands in nearly 100 appearances.

He's more of a ball-player than a ball-winner.

He's not one to drive at a defence with the ball, he's more one to play a pass into others' strides.  He will take way too many touches sometimes and slow things down.  He's got a good left foot on him when he uses it.

This is depressing. McCann is after a team full of steady eddies by the sounds of things which would be good, if we were aiming for mid-table in the league below.
