All things Dundee FC

Let's make it clear, Bowyer deserved another year but was hardly incredible in what he done over the season.

Until he played two upfront (which still had its awful performances) we were largely average. Genuinely believe without ICT or Particks injury crisis mid-season we would be in the play offs.

Not to mention Queens suddenly turning into an awful outfit for their final 7 or 8 games.

It's been done early enough for us to do what's needed on the players front which is absolutely the main thing, as we need a complete overhaul. All the best to Bowyer, hopefully he gets the Blackpool job and can be closer to his family.

We move on (swiftly I hope).

Thank you.

I know it's a low bar, but he wouldn't be worse than McIntyre and McGhee, IMO.

Do you have the players to play 5-3-2 or 5-2-3 effectively?

If not then he will be as bad.

No, but mostly because we only have the players to play 1-2-1 (and no-one in goal) at the moment.

Then yeah, he'll struggle.

His signings for us were generally along the lines of being a good player but not in the way needed to play how he wanted to play.

Signed folk like Ali Crawford and Graham Carey then told them to track runners in midfield and just shuttle the ball out wide.

Watch Davidson go and prove everybody wrong now

Part of you thinks with Strachan there calling him a clown and telling him how to sort things, it could work out well. Strachan would surely veto stupid transfers too.

Then you remember how pig headed Davidson is, to the point his own coaching staff have changed virtually everything (to great effect) within weeks of him leaving and realise that he'd just ignore all the advice anyway.

5-2-3 for the first 3 months, not because its the best thing to do, but just because he wants to show people he was right.

Gordon "Let's get the tall lads and lasses clapping cheeks" Strachan?

I read it as the board asking Bowyer to fully commit (family/Blackpool rumours) as we have a massive job to get a full squad together next season. Presuming they didn't get the answer they wanted.

If he was going to go it had to be now.

Now they better not fook up the next appointment. Looks like they're leaving that down to Strachan.

The guy wants to be nearer his family and could have walked ages ago when morons were putting pressure on him to go but he stuck it out and completed every objective laid out.

Next season will be mostly on the wrong end of results and he'd be getting hounded again by the morons.

He'd be stupid AF to have stayed. Thanks for the hard work Gary, go enjoy your career.
