Dundee Utd v BOOOOOOOOO!

Recommended Posts

Holy shiit, that Goodwin elbow was full-on launched backwards into Connolly's face. How the fcuk does he keep getting away with these red card assaults against United?

Agreed. Is he going to be cited for that? Could easily have broken Connolly's nose with that.

Pretty sure that's how it works - if it's shown on the BBC, the compliance officer sees it, so another ban for Jim.

Why did he do it? The guy is retarded!

3-0 down, the ball safely running out of play, and 90 mins up, he feels the need to elbow a guy half his size in the face.

Aye, that'll be another ban for Goodwin surely. Last minute of the game, already well beaten, ball running out of play and he decides to elbow a young guy in the pus just for the hell of it. Classic Jim Goodwin.

Edit: I'd say great minds think alike but that cannae be right.

Read this before watching the highlights and was expecting some kind of wild elbow and stretcher bearers.

If you're honest though, if it had been anyone else it wouldn't even be being discussed.

As it is, BBC have ensured that Goodwin will be banned again for probably more than three games this time.

If Osbourne and Plummer aren't back playing soon we are going to have a scarily lightweight and inexperienced defence and midfield.

This is a fair comment, but it is kind of the whole point too. If it had been anyone else then they may have been given the benefit of the doubt that it was accidental, but Jim has previous for exactly this sort of thing.

This. Accidental is one thing but this happens too often with Goodwin. I am sure he has been warned often enough but he can't seem to stop doing it. maybe electro-shock therapy will help.

You mention a 'wild elbow' but actually that's not the point, if it was a wild flinging elbow you possibly could argue it was momentum or an accident but it wasn't, it was something done on purpose and Goodwin was totally in control of what he was doing.

The only person who has ensured that he may get banned is Goodwin. Absolute stupidity from him and needless as well. He's your captain and a coach - what kind of example does this set to his team mates? I'd be furious if that was an ICT player.

No, there's nothing which has been said which would imply stretcher bearers, that's a classic strawman defence. What's happened is that - yet again - Goodwin has been caught out for a deliberate and unnecessary act of violence. On this occasion he doesn't even have the defence of getting carried away or trying to gain a competitive advantage. The game was finished and he decided to elbow a young guy in the face just because the opportunity was there.

I'm not convinced. Gunning's petulant kick out against Celtic was highlighted and he had no previous and didn't even connect. If the cameras catch someone elbowing or kicking (or attempting to kick) an opponent it'll be highlighted.

I've yet to see it and am a bit hesitant to comment, as there is a section of the Saints support who will turn on you if you're seen bad mouthing Jim on a mixed fans forum. I've been given stick in the past for calling him a fucking idiot for doing some of the stuff he has.

There has to come a point though where enough is enough. He's a total liability in this respect and has been for a long time now. He's probably one of the nicest guys you could ever talk to off a football pitch and even likes a bit of a banter and laugh with both his and other teams fans. But then he does something stupid and sees his face all over the telly for the wrong reasons. Time after time.

Ironic that Bobby F normally whines like a bitch about referees screwing Saint Mirren over yet here we have a situation where an official misses something which benefits the Buddies and he still has the audacity to gripe about it.
