That's pretty crap news RE McGurn and Hill if true. Understandable in McGurn's case given he lives in the Glasgow area, but not something that's ideal. For Hill, it's less understandable, and surely both would've trained with us last season?

Almost sounds like they're being marginalised.

In the end we won fairly comfortably but the amount of chances Stirling created was ridiculous - we are a shambles defensively.

We'll be out of the cup as soon as we get drawn against a semi competent team.

Agreed, unless the draw is kind to us again then we're going to be up against it. There is something not right about our team. Not sure what it is but something ain't right.

Stirling should have finished with nine men, number 3 and 8 (Hearts Lad) going in studs high, fucking thugs.

Regarding thugs what about Raiths No 11, good job your manager took him off just before the end. Say no more

The atmosphere yesterday was a bit flat, apart from the various shrieks and grunts from some boy who clearly didn't speak English as his first language. Down to Murray?

Those really drunk Rovers fans trying to start chants were hilarious

I like that Jimmy Scott has that antagonist edge to him, it serves a purpose in disrupting certain games, and sometimes it's just funny to see how wound up people get at the football, but two minutes from the end of a match that we're winning 2-0 isn't the time for it. I was glad to see his number go up.

Agreed. Davidson type behaviour. Sign of a true w****r.

Glad to get the win and go through. Can't believe we didn't take the chance to give Hill a game but the rumours posted above make complete sense - that Laidlaw ever played ahead of a fit McGurn is the biggest clue that Murray has no time for the part-timers. Cuthbert will be back in the second he's fit and it might just be the final nail in the coffin for Murray.

A draw with one of the lower league sides in the last 16 would be lovely. We've had some great cup draws in the last few years though so we're probably due a dud. Falkirk or Queens away.

I thought we were decent second half tbh and never really looked in danger, Grantie took his goal well and we seen it out, first half was a different story and we were quite lucky to go in ahead, McKay being the only difference in the teams. Gordon Smith hasn't really gotten any better has he? If one or two of his chances had fallen to a better player it could have been a different story.

Annan or Albion Rovers away please.
