Clarke Carlisle

Many on here have commented that jumping in front of a lorry is a selfish way to kill yourself. However someone commits suicide there will always have to be someone who finds the body, whether that is a family member, friend or stranger. Surely they will be deeply affected by this. Is this seen as being selfish as well?

People with depression are not thinking rationally. Clark Carlisle didn't jump in front of a lorry instead of hanging himself because he wanted to ruin someone else's life as well.

Someone finding you're body cannot be avoided.

Jumping in front of a lorry and potentially ending/ruining someone else's life can.

Ralf Little was a close friend of Carlisle, they shared a flat. His point is that this is par for the course with him. Fux up then takes, seemingly, drastic action against himself in a desperate attempt for sympathy rather than recrimination.

This and I don't really see a lot wrong with what Little said either. How many times can you keep accepting someone saying sorry then doing similar things again? There comes a time when you just have to let them get on with it and sort out their own issues otherwise you end up dragged down with them.

In court today and whilst admitted offence is trying to use his attempted suicide/mental health as justification.

3rd offence and that drunk he was swerving onto pavements then refused to co-operate with police.

Is 3rd offence not approaching jail time. Hope they send him down.

Very difficult to envisage his utterly crap views on a game of football can extolled to the watching millions on TV again, in fact the honourable thing (ha!) to do is formally withdraw from public representation. However, we live in times of consequence being trumped by rehabilitation, with mobs like the BBC (wheeling out their F-list stellar cast to talk all things wonderful about the Beeb post-Savile) probably keen to be seen as holding up this p***k as some sort of role model in his 'recovery'. Footballers in particular seem to be fairly cutting-edge when it comes to having their misdemeanours washed in public for them, though.

The driver's dead. That's your Race and Equality ambassador for you.

It wasn't the driver, it was a passing motorist who got out after the accident to try and help Carlisle. Father of two who was apparently so distraught by the whole experience he had to quit his job, and then it seems take his own life.
