The Greenock Morton Thread - It's Better Than Yours

One ineffective player for another, probably not that surprising tbh.

Forbes certainly wasn't ineffective when his delivery for a 90th minute equaliser, then his own 92nd minute goal against Ayr won the game that kept us in the title race in March:

Or when he tore your rabble apart in your 0-4 shoeing in your own midden the following weekend:

And he certainly wasn't ineffective in the decisive game at Stranraer, when his glorious lofted pass to Declan McManus (5:37) saw the striker head home the clinching goal in the win that sealed la decima:

So to sum up your fail then - Morton got a player who played a vital role in winning the league title and getting us out of that bin of a league; you got an absolute carthorse who contributed only further fail towards your seventh placed finish; the most humiliating league placing that a full-time club has ever suffered in the seaside leagues.

Better luck next time champ.

Think Scullion counts for three players going by the BMI index.

Bit harsh on the lad. Watched him in a few 20s games last year, certainly doesn't lack fitness, his build gives you the indication he's overweight, but he's really not.

So to sum up your fail then, you've completely misread the post. I understand you've got yourself awfully excited to post some more PnB cliché ridden nonsense but just try harder next time. At no point did I claim he was ineffective for Morton that season.

We got rid of the ineffective Forbes and replaced him with the largely ineffective Barrowman, at this point I could go trawl through and pick up some highlights from the goals he scored, including a last minute winner but frankly what would be the point?

And yes, finishing seventh was a bit shit, thankfully it was a blip and we can move on as a club and hopefully not revisit the seaside leagues for a while. You can console yourself with that in another ten years you'll be signing more jobbers to add to to your "la decima" (minter).

Not a chance. Only Hibs or Utd could afford him in this league.

Could be a loan deal. Looks like we are trying to get him away from the club as soon as possible. Craziness from Hartley. Duffy also has the Dundee link going for him, and considering he acts as pretty much an unpaid scout for us anyways, I wouldn't rule it out.
