Every minimum wage rise in the autumn is followed by a core hours reduction as soon as Santa has gone.That said you reach a point where the business cant function on any less staff so there is an absolute floor.That said you can top up on zero hours and freebies from Ian Duncan Smith. Well, that's supposed to be the equilibrium point anyway. If you don't need as many man-hours on the payroll then you always have the option of cutting them. The major issue isn't "cutting core hours" so much as cutting the benefits associated with a full-time job (paid sick and holiday leave primarily). The minimum wage should be calculated to ensure that a full-time employee can live off his wages, and regulation should be in place to ensure that any business which requires sufficient man-hours to employ full-time staff does so (rather than paying three people to work ten hours a week with no benefits). Totally correct, that line is most definitely being taken, and we are seeing it more and more. British bakeoff, Britain's got talent, great British menu, along with the anniversary of every battle, in every war that good old blighty fought in. But never a mention of Scotland's part in any of these glorious conflicts as it just isn't the thing is it? It was all for England, king and empire. Scotland bad, and thats end of story it seems. Who was it that was greeting on here a while back that the current 1/3 Scottish, 1/3 UK, 1/3 European school history curriculum was SNP Nat brainwashing?
