Brora and Cove both lost at home this weekend putting Formartine right in the HL running.

It looks like being between Edinburgh City and Stirling Uni in the LL, although others pursue.

Still exceedingly tight afoot SPFL2, just past halfway.

Noticed that .

In practice it won't be an issue for them: they've gone out of both the cups played during the season, leaving 13 league games to play in 13 weekends.

City seem to have the good fortune to be involved in just about the only game to go ahead certain weeks, but on the flipside have 2 to 6 cup-ties still to play.

Overall situation:

| Lge Scottish Other | Total

| Cup? Cup |

| |

Stirling | 17 1+ | 18 +SC

Arbroath | 17 | 17

Montrose | 15 | 15

Berwick | 17 | 17

East Stir | 18 | 18

Brora | 9 1-4 | 10-13

Cove | 11 2-6 | 13-17

Formartine | 11 2-6 | 13-17

Turriff | 12 1-4 | 13-16

Nairn | 10 1-4 | 11-14

Inverurie | 10 2-6 | 12-16

Edin City | 8 2-6 | 10-14

Stir Univ | 13 | 13

Cumbern'd | 10 1-3 | 11-13

Spartans | 12 2-6 | 14-18

East Kilb | 11 1+ 2-6 | 14-18 +SC

Just the 5 games in hand for Stirling Uni.

Yeah Whitehill in 7th place have 6 games in hand although not serious contenders.

Whitehill's record since 24/10/15 is: Played 1, Won 1.

9 postponements.....

I know there aren't many Shire fans on here, but for those who are: how would you survive relegation? Surely the fall in revenue, if you were to go down and stay down beyond the point of parachute payments, would mean the rent at Ochilview would cease to be affordable?

It's a disgrace that clubs can just rent a ground to meet requirements.

Off the top of my head that includes

Dundee

Raith rovers

Falkirk

Livingston

Cowden

The mighty da(top of the league)

Airdrie

East Stirlingshire

Stirling

Clyde

Hamilton

Stranraer.

You'll then have more clubs who have loans secured against there ground, or restrictions on when they can use it ( Forfar for example ground share with the ladies side and that will remain until the plastic is lifted )

Raith Rovers do not pay rent, the club does make monthly payments but this is towards buying the stadium, call it mortgage payments if you like.

Stirling Uni and Cumbernauld Colts both rent grounds in the LL just now. I don't know how much they pay in rent compared to East Stirlingshire though. Most of the LL teams survive on crowds of 100 or so which suggests the shire should be able to adapt.

I don't really know for sure, but you asked so I will share my thoughts

Short term as you suggest we should be fine.

Longer term, we are a revenue stream for Stennie I would have thought they would be keen to keep making what they can from us

Aye, fair points. Just occurred to me earlier that while there are other League Two sides renting, Shire are the only club doing so from another league club, but I suppose there's no reason for Stenhousemuir not to negotiate to ensure they still have that revenue stream themselves if the current rent becomes unaffordable for Shire in the event they're relegated.

Looking like Brora turning the screw in the HL again. Vastly superior goal difference even if Cove win all 3 games in hand. This week Cove v Formartine, whilst Brora should get 8 against Strathspey Thistle.

Looking like normal pyramid fixture of Brora Rangers v Edinburgh City with Brora progressing again into the playoff against East Stirlingshire or Berwick Rangers. Maybe Montrose vulnerable if faltering in run in.

Honestly can't see Brora slipping up again in the play off's. Still perplexed as to how a village 70 miles north of Inverness with 1000 people can function in the SPFL, granted they have an exceptionally good football team.

Exciting times ahead
