New Forth Road Bridge - Open/Closed still shit

I come from Edinburgh along queensferry road (A90) and past the bridges to the B904 towards Bo'ness before joining the M9.

If you're one of the utter, utter c***s who crawls the whole way up the long Bo'ness turn off before darting into the near stationary traffic just before the new bridge, saving yourself a queue whilst making it so much worse for everyone else, then I genuinely hope you drown in the bath.

Took me an hour and 20 to get from Edinburgh airport to Rosyth yesterday.
After Rosyth the hold ups magically disappear.
Gawping c***s

After Rosyth the speed limit is 70mph again. That could also have something to do with it.

Just now, Melanius Mullarkey said:

Aye, the Beijing magnotron will be switched off as everyone's away to their kip. Think it gets switched on about 6.30am (our time). Low power at first then ramps up to max voltage about an hour later.

They do a cracking steak, ginger and spring onion sizzler.

  • 1 month later...

So it's open but it's going to be (partly) closed again and with restrictions and roadworks for another ten months:

Would it not have been better just to get everything ready to fully open the QC and the FRB as a public transport corridor rather than this continual jumping back and forth (snigger) between the two bridges?

Mostly overnight work, but the media don't let that get in the way of an SNPbad story. Radio Shortbread full of experts and Willie rennie this morning telling us how bad the bridge is and how it's a vanity project and the usual anti Scottish guff.

Rennie is a c**t. Until they get rid of him they'll do nothing.

Hardly a disaster, it would have been a disaster if a new bridge wasn't built.

I’m surprised to see you having a go at the SNP.

Really surprised.

Really, really surprised.

From a distance I like the new bridge. Up close it's an ugly thing and the wind barriers prevent your view of the Forth and add to the feeling that it's badly designed.

The snagging stuff like this is annoying but anyone who works in construction/engineering will be pretty familiar with this sort of thing. It's sadly the norm for big construction projects.
