A selection of hawks and owls in the centre of Greenock Oak Mall today.

Those eagle owls look quite impressive, quite big with intense looking eyes. Looked like it turned its head almost 360 degrees.

Edit to add pic I took of eagle owl today:

I imagine there will be heads turning al over the shop with some large hooters on show.

I'm going with a more traditional selection of 5. These are current favourites that I've seen in the last month.

1. Short-eared owl

2. Little egret

3. Snow bunting

4. Kingfisher

5. Mandarin duck

More established favourites:

1. Wren

2. Goldcrest

3. Bullfinch

4. Teal

5. Goldeneye

You are not allowed to list Bond films and pass them off as genuine species!

Ps. Bullfinch nearly made my top 4, due to it being in the fairly exclusive set of birds with horns! Obviously, the horn-bill nearly made it too.

I've only just started feeding the birds in our garden after discovering that I've become old. Luckily we don't get seagulls in the garden ,after the dog caught one of the young and shook it around fir a bit. Anybody that keeps a bird in a cage is a right c**t. Magpies are cool as well.
