Dossers V Harry Wraggs 27/02/2016

Lasley and mcdonald absolutely ran the game today. Too many of our better players had off days ! Bannigan had his worst game in a long time. If we score first we seem to grow in confidence and be able to get a result but losing the first goal has seemed to knock the stuffing out of us in a lot of games this season.

You could have argued that Pogba would have been a better starting option than Doolan to combat Motherwell's physical defence, but he was absolutely stinking when he came on. The sooner he leaves, the better.

I don't watch Partick every week but Doolan has a pretty decent strike rate in the Premier League while Pogba is like a mahogany wardrobe. Big, solid, wouldn't want one to fall on me and absolutely shite at football.

First time in Fir Park, now I know why I have never bothered before. One observation though. For a team known as the Steelmen the away stand is hell of a rusty. An indictment of the steel industry if ever there was one.

Steel rusts. The presence of rust is down to the failure of the protective coating rather than the steel so you can't justifiably criticise the steel industry for it. I would have thought some rusty steel would have been well down your list of things to complain about.

We can be a right good team on our day, problem is our day doesn't seem to come around all that often. But as a Thistle fan said further up all our forward players played well when they got involved.

McDonald was not far off unplayable in patches yesterday and Moult is one of these guys who you are always confident that he will score when played in.

Thought THistle knocked the ball around well in patches but they never really got in behind us, McManus and Hall commanded well too.

Need to reproduce this form at the hellhole next week.

It was ok. I didn't think we'd win. Hoped for a draw. Pain in the arse to walk all the way round to get in to that stand. Poor effort from the home fans in terms of singing. My pie was ok. Another point - there is a hell of a slope on that pitch, either that or some clown built the stands squinty!

On the face of it, should be a routine hammering against a team languishing below us. But I sense an upset. I can see Well nicking a goal here.

1-5 Thistle.

I hope you didn't put any money on it.

A deserved win for us and we controlled the game for all but the last 15 minutes or so. By half time we could have been 2/3 goals up but stout defensive work by Partick limited us to one through a penalty. Don't know if Nesbit intended to trip Lasley or not but there was no protest from the Jags players. Don't know why Cerny waved at us just before the kick was taken but we waved back - seems a really nice guy. The loss of a goal encouraged Jags to open up and that made for a better game.

We added 2 decent goals in the second half but then sat back and allowed Jags to have a go at us. Good to see a healthy travelling support and they were rightly rewarded with a consolation goal - credit to them.

For us I thought Moult, McDonald, Cadden and Laing acquitted themselves well. Jags looked a strong powerful side but were a bit toothless despite bringing on an array of attacking talent. Seabourne behaved himself reasonably well apart from one stranglehold but Bannigan pushed his luck committing 6 fouls without being yellow carded and being spoken to twice (didn't know what the ref said to him though). I'd like to know how the SFA defines "persistent fouling".

Happy days for us. Jags will be good enough to escape the relegation scrap.

You only need to walk around the stadium to get to the away end if you're daft enough to start at the wrong end.

If we end up getting relegated with McDonald and Moult at our disposal then serious questions need asked.

Thought the first half was brutal with the two mentioned above wasting their time on the wings or too deep , we were much better in the second half.

Disappointed in Thistle , they were terrible and offered nothing then again i suppose its the story of every side in the league , we're all capable of performances like that , thats us 4 points off of 4th place and 4 points off of 2nd bottom , crazy.

980 was a decent showing from Thistle , Shellsuit Bob getting turfed out amused only slightly more than him leading his wee gang of tramps to the front wall arms outstretched giving it the "come aheads" when we went 1-0

Massive next week , im not overly confident but what a boost a result over there would give us. Lose and its suicide watch again

Very pleasing end result for us on Saturday after what was a very forgettable first 40 minutes or so.

Couple of cracking goals from Moult and Johnson in the second. Must admit after Partick scored their goal I was pretty nervous for 20 minutes. Thought they were pretty gash until they did score though.

Top performers for us: Laing put in a great shift at right back, Johnson and Moult worked very hard up front, Lasley was solid in midfield but motm for me was McDonald. Absolute class act, holding the ball up, playing some lovely balls and working hard. With some better movement around him we could have scored more goals I reckon.

Found myself in the Phil O'Donnell stand as my old man fancied going. Don't know if anyone else saw but there was a strange old boy with his Partick scarves draped across the wall in front of him. Was doing a fair bit of shouting and started stirring things up with some get it up you signs to the home faithful. Thought it was quite funny until he was escorted from the premises 10 minutes before the end.
