ScottyB
I agree the slide is bad by Bautista, although these type of slides only became illegal this year. Odor knows all about dirty slides - https://twitter.com/SBNation/status/650411563229310980 There's now talk of whether Odor tried to hit Bautista in the face with his throw to first. https://streamable.com/oxon

Going to Phillies v Marlins tonight. Phillies haven't hit well but have ground out wins. Would be happy with more of the same tonight.
RJM77
Bautista's a c**t, although I must say I'm liking this newfound Jays/Rangers rivalry, shame they don't play each other again this year.
Kamikaze Ken
At least Odor actually made contact with Bautista. Looked like Joey Bats was up for your normal pushing and slapping carry-on that masquerades as a fight in baseball, Odor had other ideas, though. It's still no Will The Thrill vs the Cardinals middle infield! Candy Maldonado's take out of Ozzie Smith is a thing of beauty.

Maybe Bautista knew about Odor's history of dirty slides before he did this. In that case I don't have as much of a problem with his actions. Odor certainly has no room to complain. Some of his slides that I've since seen are really, really bad. Still, Bautista should have just taken the ball to his ass like a man and gone to first. He had to know it was coming at some point. It also doesn't matter that they just became illegal. There's always been a difference between a good, hard slide to break up a double play and a potentially dangerous slide aimed purely at the defender. Yank Mike
I read a column today that said baseball fights are the best these days because they aren't body armored up like football, they are actually angry unlike hockey, and they actually throw punches unlike basketball. Swarley
havent lost a series on the road this season and have just swept the Reds! Yeah I only noticed very recently that they were doing very well. I used to really like baseball but my interest has waned severely in recent years. Coincides with the Mariners being utter horse shit and not being able to watch any games (due to time difference). SamuraiJock
Kershaw was is frighteningly good last every night Fixed that for you. He's always been brilliant, but this season could be historically exceptional. So far - 86 Innings, 105 Strikeouts, 5 walks!!! Not sure i've ever watched such a dominant pitcher - maybe Pedro in 1999/2000?
