Nightmare
We'll probably miss out on Keown, Meekings, O'Ware, etc that we've all heard of/seen play, and end up with a bunch of randoms from down south. That's not necessarily a bad thing, either. Archie has generally had pretty decent success when following that path.
Fuctifano
From what I've got in my stats, since promotion we've signed 39 senior players either permanently or on loan, 15 have been playing for a Scottish club immediately prior and 24 outside Scotland. Every summer window we've signed a player who has gone on to if not win POTY that season then at least be very good 2013- Higginbotham 2014- Osman 2015- Cerny 2016- Barton 2017- ? Edited June 28, 2017 by Fuctifano obvs can't count
vikingTON
So O'Ware isn't as good as Gunning? Why wouldn't we just sign Gunning then? I don't want either. Both are shite. I want Keown and I want him now. Gunning is comfortably good enough to play for a top-flight Scottish club. His high-profile meltdowns mean however that a lot of managers/clubs view him as a major gamble and so aren't interested. That's the only reason why he was playing at Championship level for a few months. His wage demands and family being based in England makes it difficult for clubs to justify taking that risk as well.Signing Gunning as a free agent would be a better idea than spending £50k for example on O'Ware though.
M0rtonfc
If true big sexy Tam O'Ware would be a quality signing for you boys, solid defender, brilliant in the air and provides many a goal from set plays, I'd personally be gutted if we lost him! A year left on his contract, can't see him signing an extension so we might end up cashing in if we have someone else in mind! Can't see him going for anything less than 70-100k, he's worth more than that tho!
M0rtonfc
Just read back to see that this story is heavy bollocks, if that's the case, please continue with your day gents, thanks
mrcat1990
This is the issue with pre season. Large discussions go on over what is 90% a bollocks rumour made in a red top. Can we stick to mud slinging in the general nonsense as per pre season tradition plz.

Gunning's quite clearly pish at this level.
RandomGuy.
Gunning's quite clearly pish at this level. This. Even outwith him picking up the ball and walking off the pitch, he was regularly caught well out of position and simply out muscled by strikers

SetPieceSpecialist
As Jagfox has said, it's just a slight re-writing of Devine's ET interview. Wouldn't take this as any kind of confirmation. They seem to be suggesting it would be a loan but if a deal is happening, I reckon it would be a transfer. Either way, they've pulled the 'set to' chat from out of their arse by the looks of it.

Hopefully!
costa
apparently playing Ayr in a closed doors game just now, currently 3-0 down in the first half. I hope its the development squad that are playing!
Smurph
Declan McDaid scored from 25 yards, apparently. And I would rather get Keown signed up permanently. I can't imagine Reading would want to loan him if his contract's expiring next season, they'd rather get a bit of money instead of no money if that have no intention of keeping him. If he has a good season again here on loan, I doubt we'd be able to sign him. Edited June 29, 2017 by Smurph
cilitbang
If we can get Keown signed up on a 2-3 year deal now then I would go for that rather risk getting him on loan for another season, then another club will poach him on a free as he enters his prime.

OTD a year ago we pumped Cirencester 6-0 (Erskinex2, Lawless, Pogba, Edwards, Nisbet). We then lost 4-0 to Bath City a few days later with this line up: - Trialist, Trialist, Michael McMullin, Trialist, Daniel Devine, Abdul Osman, David Amoo, Sean Welsh, Mathias Pogba, Ade Azeez, Kevin Nisbet.
Hammer Jag
In 20 odd years of following football, it never ceases to amaze me when fans get carried away with pre season results. Gerry Collins' team of wasters looked like the Brazil side of 1970 in friendlies and Whyte & Britton's team that sealed a second relegation in a row outplayed a Premiership Fulham side packed with internationals. This coupled with fans wetting their knickers over the fact we've not signed a dozen or so new players by the end of June makes me detest this time of year. Wake me up when the season starts.
