The Partick Thistle thread

Very pleased with that performance. Kept the lead until half-time, should probably have extended it.

Played really well second half. Didn't go gung-ho but kept on the front foot where we could and reaped the rewards.

We did to the Pars what Arbroath did to us last week. Made the opposition look bad through a mix of good play and endeavour and got the result.

Dunfermline probably won't play that badly again for a while but they got schooled today.

Credit to Dools for taking the young lads out of the firing line and Robbo and Ngwenya showed up pretty well.

We can take confidence into the Inverness game but we need to be up to the task for 90 minutes again.

Decent crowd overall and a good turnout from the visitors.

It isn't half an up and down experience following Thistle.

@Busta Nut has broadly covered it but he's...fine.

He was a Robinson signing in the Covid season, the PCA had been agreed then the Pandemic hit and we brought him up anyway. By all accounts he had a fairly shite time settling through that period. He was supposedly brought in as a left sided centre back but due to injuries he ended up just playing at left back.

He's one of those players that a section of our support just don't like. His face doesn't fit.

He's not in any way a sexy player, he has an awkward style of play and tbh he looks more like an accountant than a fitba' player. Despite that he became Alexander's default LB and in turn became a bit of a lightning rod due to the fact that folk didn't much like Alexander's style of play and he essentially played in a way that followed Alexander's instructions ie: a centre back playing as a defensive full back. It felt like that everything was just doubled down on when Grezza gave him a two year extension.

He picked up an injury shortly after then just seemed to disappear and only really appeared again during the summer.

Like others I genuinely hope he does a turn for you guys as he seems a nice enough lad and he could do with getting a fresh start and games under his belt

All the best Toby.

We could bring the Ayr game forward to that Saturday if McGinley can play Centre Back. It feels like a risk for probably not much financial gain as I am not sure how many more Ayr would bring through on the Saturday given their current form.

We’d probably get a few more home fans through the door on a Saturday afternoon compared to a cold weeknight as well.

It's another big day on the Archive, per below, we're very pleased to be introducing another 12 seasons of reserve team matches, from the late 60s to the end of the 1970s, complete with potted match reports wherever it's possible to do so. A challenging decade in terms of press coverage, but we've had a right good go. Did you know Thistle reserves won the League twice in 1970-71 and were Scottish Cup winners in 1972 and 1975? Check it out!

What’s gone on here - the “no further comment” bit indicates something…

For clubs at this level, you're almost guaranteed to get someone who leaks the information. It's just a question of when.
