jmothecat
All local Sainsbury's stores are flogging it for a tenner. Complete with T2 balloons.
Stellaboz
Asda were too with a big, quite awful cardboard display thing that you could literally walk through. Put me off buying it to be honest.
jmothecat
Tesco seem to be selling them in vinyl record sleeves.

Probably better than the book "Porno" on which it seems to be only very loosely based. That's quite disappointing (but not surprising) considering what happens in the book. Stellaboz
That's quite disappointing (but not surprising) considering what happens in the book. If you watch it I thoroughly recommend going and watching the interviews on YouTube with Danny Boyle about how the script came together. It's genuinely really interesting and makes sense. The OP
I finally got round to watching this last night after previously patching it back in January to turn pre-cinema drinks into a sesh. I found it pretty disappointing - I never really cracked a smile apart from when Spud punched his boxing coach in the face. Everyone else seemed to enjoy the orange lodge stuff but I suppose I enjoyed that bit in Porno so remembered it too well from that. I thought most of the film was 'member berries' and a bit aimless. If I want to reminisce about Trainspotting I think I'd just watch Trainspotting again as every scene was far more memorable. I did enjoy the car park chase sequence - ironically I found it reminiscent of the other T2.

One of the extras is "A conversation with Danny Boyle and the cast" so that might include the YouTube stuff.
Stellaboz
I hope so. Just think of them as two different stories.
Sauzee#4
The film is decent enough, but it's not even close to being as good as the book in my opinion.
Bully Wee Villa
Spoiler warning for those on the app... I thought the book was a bit of a letdown by cheating the audience of what they were most keenly anticipating... the meeting between Renton and Begby.Admittedly I've forgotten much of the novel but remember being disappointed by that. Stellaboz
For the hard of thinking, T2 is not a film adaptation of the novel Porno.

Bully Wee Villa
It says in the film credits "based on the novels Trainspotting and Porno by Irvine Welsh".
Stellaboz
Yes but it's not an adaptation. As in, it's not been written to copy the fcking book.
Bully Wee Villa
No. It's loosely based on it, as I said.
The Chlamydia Kid
Mind at the time folk were so desperate for this to be a classic they were trying to pretend this film was comparable in standard to the original? [emoji23] giving it away free on virgin just now it's that good.... [emoji23]
