pittsburgh phil
In the book The Blade Artist he was in prison for killing Seeker, Renton's one time dealer. Totally different story arc for Begbie between the book and the T2 storyline though obvs.
WullieBroonIsGod
In the film he talks about killing man who had done nothing wrong Said something about the red mist coming down as he was thinking about Renton. Been so long since I read the book though, so cant remember why he's in prison there

The Ginger Prince
Finally went and seen this tonight, loved it. Admittedly wasn't as good as the first but still a good sequel with a few nods to the original.

Silas Stingy
Just finished watching this again, and I have to say that I enjoyed it more this time round. I think it helps watching it again without the nagging thoughts reminding me that "Will it be as groundbreaking as the first one?". If you're going to watch a sequel to a movie and expect it to be a classic like its predecessor then you're going to feel disappointed in a way. Now that I watched it for what it was I appreciated it a lot more. T2 is definitely a worthy sequel. The emotional scenes are really well done, the great Scottish humour is not lost, the soundtrack is enjoyable, and seeing these characters interact with each after all these years is a joy to behold. But my favourite thing about the movie was the look of it. T2 showcases Edinburgh really well and it did leave me wanting to get a bus down there and enjoy the beauty of the city. I wasn't really a fan of Veronica. She just didn't have much of a personality compared to the other main characters. She wasn't hateful in any way, but I didn't really care much for her scenes. Another nitpick is that the movie does reference the first one a bit too much, and I feel that there should be a balance to nostalgia for it to really work. When Sick Boy said "You're tourist in your own youth." I couldn't help thinking that the movie was guilty of doing the same thing. I still did enjoy the call backs, but I feel that it would of worked better if they didn't use them as much.So my opinion on Trainspotting 2 is that it is a great movie. The positives definitely outweigh the small negatives, and I think that it is a more enjoyable experience if you don't expect it to be like the first and see it for what it is.4/

supermik
Watched it yesterday on turks. Afraid I found it a bit meh to be honest. Not bad in bits but from all the praise that has been heaped on it I just expected a little bit more from it.

Bully Wee Villa
Just watched. Not a bad companion piece to the first one. Probably better than the book "Porno" on which it seems to be only very loosely based.
