Ludo*1
I'm just waiting for people to start saying 'its no the same'. Great start to the new series, bit of a slow start and dunno if the Winston story was necessary but I was howling with laughter by the end!
Derek Patterson
"Jack, yer willy!" Reasonable first episode. Hopefully gets better as the series goes on.
TonMan
That was surprisingly decent. Didn't feel all that different to the older episodes which was what we would've been hoping for.

I think they went for a low key return - nothing flashy and no killer lines. But I'm ok with that - it made it really feel like a continuation: an easing back in to the characters and their lives. A little less slapstick and a few more witty lines would be good.

Sometimes they like to throw in more serious, emotionally weighted storylines so it didn't seem too out of place. Sort of went to that idea of Winston and co always being stuck in Craiglang and never really getting out at all which is something they've done before.
Ludo*1
If I had one criticism - I don't think I like the HD look as much which is weird to say.

Antlion
* On a purely plot level, wouldn't Jack's bathwater have turned freezing overnight? It seemed a bit off he said it was starting to get cold after he'd been in something like twenty hours.
Dudu Dahan pal
Thought it was brilliant. It'll take time to get used to it again. Only part that was poor was winston not really being funny during it

Aye, Isa was probably aghast that his willy had shrunk.

djchapsticks
I enjoyed it, it felt very similar to the Still Game of old which is probably the biggest compliment I can pay it. I agree with others though, it really didn't translate well to HD on a visual level. Edited October 7, 2016 by djchapsticks
sergie's no1 fan
Me and the old man were howling for the first 5-10 minutes then it dipped. I can't remember the last time I actively tuned in to normal tv to watch a program and I'll be doing the same for the next few friday nights, it's great to have it back.

mizfit
If I had one criticism - I don't think I like the HD look as much which is weird to say. My only complaint, maybe I'm just used to how it looks on DVD

If I didn't know the show so well, I couldn't tell the difference between a series 2 episode and a series 5 episode, for example. Apart from the HD filming, this episode could also "pass" as coming from any point in the show's history. That's a compliment, btw!
