Another thing that annoys me is that Pete's Dad was discovered to be the housing developer, but he still let his dad live under a bridge?

His son :)

But yep, they seem to have just discontinued a few of the backstories of the characters, including the one you mention.

Tam's kid must be 8 or 9 now, he may well make an appearance later on in the series.  Would be strange for them to just drop it, his relationship was with Frances was one of the main themes of series 6.

I was reading something yesterday about the timeline, and how the gap hasn't been acknowledged. Tam and Frances were celebrating their second wedding anniversary on Friday's show, so according to that the boy would only be about one I think?

They're not big on continuity. Not that it makes a huge difference I think.

In the last episode it was Tam and Frances 2 year wedding anniversary so they're ignoring the 9 year gap since the last episode and working on the basis that this series is the year after series 6, so the wean will only be 1

In that last episode Tam mentioned that it was his and Frances 2nd anniversary, so I think they're just nothing bothering with that storyline as well.

Speaking of Fergie, I'd be surprised if he doesn't make an appearance at some point. He had a wee cameo in the stage shows so he's obviously still in contact. If they aren't moving on in time he's more than likely got his tangoed wife up the duff by now.

Methodone Mick - I'm no deed [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Laughed so hard at that bit. So simple yet so funny. I don't think that kind of comedy would have been funny unless in a Scottish comedy.

'I'm not dead' in an English voice by a waster would maybe have brought a giggle but the "deid" makes it hilarious for some reason.

Watched Plumb Number again there - it is a truly glorious episode, with both the choir and WInston as the lollipop man.

A goata knoackback fae the choir.

Only gripe i had was the blatant lift of the scene from the great escape with Winston and the pin. If they'd mentioned in the episode we've seen the great escape ya fanny or something then it would've worked but instead it looked a wee bit lazy.

nah don't agree, was set up so well, no explanation was required

Without being pedantic, he got her up the duff during Kill Wullie (series 4). Even with the best part of 3 series being aired after that, there was no mention of Fergie's wean.

Seems like we need to accept that not every previously shown character will get a mention. I doubt we'll see the likes of Bert, Mrs Beg, Ronnie the looney or Wullie McIntosh etc. If there's any of the non-recurring characters I'd love (and partly expect) to see again would be Edith.
