die hard doonhamer
Harry Robinson has come on loan to Queens for the season. What can we expect?
capt_oats
As above that's Harry Robinson off to QoS on loan “Harry joins Jamie Semple in going out on loan, and it is likely that others will follow. “We want them to come back game ready and fighting for a place in the side.” Edited September 18, 2020 by capt_oats
YassinMoutaouakil
Bit weird that Steven Robinson and Allan Johnston have seemingly met up and decided they both preferred each others sons to their own. We don’t really know to be honest. Pretty sure he only joined us in January and even then it was more for the reserves than the first team. He’s had a couple of cameos in preseason as well as coming on (and giving away a daft penalty) in the Glentoran game but realistically he’s still an unknown quantity. Seems to be a decent crosser however, and appears relatively comfortable on either the left or right wing but we genuinely have no idea how good he is/will be as of yet

Welcome Ross Don’t want to rain on your parade but I spotted him and Anthony Stokes in Connelly’s (Merchant City) drinking pints a couple of weeks back and couldn’t believe the size he was. Can’t imagine he’ll be fit to play for a while yet.

capt_oats
The blurb seems to confirm who's going out on loan. “Bringing in Robbie allows us the chance to put boys out on loan, particularly Jamie Semple, Harry Robinson, Ross MacIver and Dean Cornelius. “They can gain vital experience doing that and hopefully come back fighting for a place, as we develop the next crop of young players.”
Desp
5 minutes ago, Ron Aldo said: Robbie Crawford on loan from Livingston. Wut? I'm usually happy to give new signings a go, but this really puzzled me. We'd rather take a guy who can't get a game for Livingston on loan for six months over giving the likes of Semple or Cornelius the chance to see if they can make the grade? It's a helluva shite message to send to the younger boys.
Phillips455
Yeah, "what" was my thinking as well. I assume Campbell has a serious injury then? If so, THAT is worrying. Edited September 18, 2020 by Phillips455
Jim McLean's Ghost
i'm pretty baffled about some of the players we are putting out on loan. Paticularly Jamie Semple. If Polworth gets injured there is zero creativity in the midfield. When we have a shortage of centre mids we send one of our own out on loan to bring in someone not in the picture at Livingston
Gianfranco
Leftfield AF. Is Crawford not a winger?
Jim McLean's Ghost
Robinson - "He has good quality on the ball and is more game ready than some of our younger boys, who have been unable to gain vital game time with no reserve games." f**k off. only way for our plays to get game time is for Robinson to put them on the park. Crawford has played 30 minutes of competitive football this season and hasn't started a game in 7 months.

Surprised we haven't seen more of him this season, especially with how we've started. Hoping he does well for you, and also hoping this isn't because he'll be away permanently, good player. ^^^ perfectly set up for him to be a complete diddy now.
Jim McLean's Ghost
I'm also surprised that now he has been removed from his right back role that Grimmy hasn't been given a go at the kick anyone who moves role that Donnelly held down before his injury.

capt_oats
I have no strong feelings either way about Robbie Crawford and while I get the gist of the posts about the loans I'm not entirely against the rationale here. In a normal season folk like Semple and Cornelius would be getting regular 90 mins for the reserves every week plus the opportunity for whatever mins they may get off the bench on a Saturday, that in turn may lead to them getting a place in the starting XI. The Reserves games would give some sort of a gauge of form. The fact that the Reserve league has been binned means that their only potential minutes will be occasional bounce games or with the First team which are at different ends of the spectrum. Sorry to be all happy clapper about it like. Edited September 18, 2020 by capt_oats
